However I will additionally re-iterate that I don't feel the additional CPU/PG fitting costs are in line with the goals of the game on any level.
With the high additional cost I am required to spend additional time seeing if any suits I use could fit this item purely for the skin it provides (as argued in thread the ISK value is negligible). In additon upon leveling up Engineering/Electronics, or even Core Upgrades, or for that matter any skill that impacts fitting costs. I must then in the process of reviewing my fits, re-analyze if the added cost of the Dren pistol would be better put to use on a higher tier module, grenade, or equipment.
As a result I feel the added value becomes negligible to the time cost of the item when maximizing a fitting is still priority. I also feel that the Dren Pistol if given regular CPU/PG costs would not give an advantage to any player as the costs associated with the same ISK pistol are neglibile. Therefore the time cost and cost to the suit is almost purely for aesthetic purposes. |

Btw some of the above only applies to Dren Pistol. I do not use Swarm Launchers so I can't comment strongly.
I will say though that Forge guns are much more common than Swarm Launchers it seems, and I am certainly pro-encouraging their use. I would imagine, though, that if you were using swarm launchers you'd be using higher level because it has been some time since I saw a std swarm take something living down (aka not turrets). A cheap standard might encourage more users though and a big part of the struggle is just convincing people to pull out the weapon. However the above are more based around gameplay mecahanics and I consider separate and distinct from my pistol arguments. |

Bumping with additional fact that this is a minimal effort change if decided to be agreeable. The necessary values are known, the question is only should it be done. I would be willing to better campaign for the second part and feel I've addressed all possible knowns I could have in my position but lack counter argument.
I will be continuing regardless. Sinfars don't need assistance to create walls of text. |

It was misplaced. This forum is a discussion of CPM itself, not things it should champion or work on. I've already directly gone to CPM members and gotten feedback here -> https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=84697&p=3
Any mods that see this can feel free to lock down this thread for the above reason and the fact that it is already in the proper forum as well.
If after today the Dren is still at the same fitting you'll probably see some more whining from me on the above listed thread. |
