Exactly what the title says.
Why dont people use Scattered Blasters or Compressed Railguns, as far as I can tell from the stats they're better than the Basic turrets in almost every way. |

Scattered blasters are good, if they weren't so annoying to aim as the front turret on an ADS and didn't use up so much PG I'd use them all the time. As for railguns they are still the single most useless small turret. Missiles are the way to go for ADS. |

Bach in chromosome I ran a Myron with scattered blasters. They did a pretty good amount of damage, but I soon found out that stabilized are WAY better for a dropship. You are able to fly higher, which allows you to make more extreme maneuvers when you start getting fired at. Plus, you don't have to work as hard to keep targets in range for your gunners. Yes, the powergrid needs are a little excessive, but it is definitely made up for. Now, I use an assault dropship and blasters are far inferior to missiles on a front turret as it's easier to swing over a target, put a missile on him, and repeat than to hold your aim on a target while blasting him. |

The most used rails are std and compressed. |

You get fewer shots with the compressed railgun due to greater heat buildup, faster. I mostly stick with the regular particle cannon, but I'll used the compressed one for destroying tanks.
I also use the ion cannon blaster sometimes. |

Scattered is the primary blaster for anyone I know who runs vehicles, they're the best and use up no more PG than the standard, anyone using a standard is either a complete newbie or a moron. Also, I always use Compressed Railguns, but you have to make a choice, 6 Shots from a standard or 3 shots and higher damage from a Compressed. |

Militia 80gj blaster on my vayu with 1 dmg mod plus racial gives me almost proto dmg and rof and range. Juat saying. Lol |

I think op is referring to LAV turrets
And to answer that, because turret gunners are sitting ducks with no defense, it's easier to just run people over. |

Scattered is great for DMG but has bad range.
Compressed is good for high dmg, but overheats quickly. |
