As part of an alliance that wages an economic war of attrition, this isk directly affects our position on the maps as the dried out enemies got isk to mount a much more meaningful attack in the critical early stages of PC.
Now the enemies are honorable and frankly manhandling us in ground fights. Our game is all about the cost of offense being too much until our economy starts to kick in. All of the isk donated to the enemy alliances during this fiasco directly affects our chances of survival: if the enemies would burn out of isk in a week at current rate, they now gain extra days of offense.
I'm certain our hostile leaders don't see themselves as wanting this isk either. I'm certain, however, that they will use the isk if it comes to that. The lifeline we have, and its a good strong lifeline, is taken away partially by influx of bonus isk.
I have utmost respect to our foes in the sandbox, and i believe we all want the corp donated isk to be fixed as a high priority. |

Man i signed on and was negative 114 mil, i worked it down to 91 mil in a day and then the day after it was at Zero. Not once have i complained about working the debt off. It just means free suits for a while and maybe a small drop in KD. People think if you spent the money you should be punished? haha what if you don't read forum posts about it and spent it. Just because you signed on and it was there? That's what i did. Why didn't they just refund peoples assets completely if they were in the negatives? Forcing them to pay back what they had bought? Maybe because they had probably already used up what they had purchased? Even so its not like 100 million or 300 million goes away into a corp wallet without a list of transactions the money has a trail. And if everyone is given the bonus that means people can buy suits to defend they're districts and there are in fact more battles. It doesn't just disappear unless you have resets to zero. Then by the time CCP gets to your account on over spending you have burnt through what you bought and earned it back. So what then? |

all my characters on various accounts are in the positive, once i learned there'd been a mistake i kept tabs on my spending.... i guess being old does have its benefits

Well it like this I did not get any extra isk I had 50 million from re-spec from update may 16 spent 10 million left me with 40 I give 10 million to my corp.Left me with 30 million this before may 28 now after I was down to 1 million. CCP what did I do wrong I am new to dust I am plan spending 200 bucks on this game cause I enjoy it but this to much you guys need fix this asap. I would like to hear from a ccp representative or GM. |

One word. Sony. Ever since partnering up with big bro, they have been being less and less of their old selves. Last years fan fest sony got all over their asses for doing what they normally doing, getting drunk and acting a fool. They don't get to have all say in this game and I don't think sony 100% agrees to the rough harsh mentality of HTFU ccp portrays in Eve online. sucks, but it is what it is |

Whenever I logged on to see a mass amount of money I knew shouldn't have been there, I did my research and looked on the forums like everyone should have done. I played the honest card and did not spend any of it.
After seeing how many people exploited this situation to gain massive amounts of ISK, I feel I got screwed once again by doing the right thing. If you don't take their ISK/assets that they overspent on away, then give the honest ones that glitched surplus of ISK back to use as they see fit.
I just want this situation to be resolved in a fair manner, however, I'm just going to assume CCP will sweep this under the rug hoping people will simply forget. I mean my God, look how long it's taken to get respecs out, compared to that, this must be a monumental task for them. |

The question I have is this:
Why was anyone messing with our ISK accounts in the first place? I can't imagine that people's ISK balances would have much to do with general system maintenance.
Since said "accidental allocation" of funds happened during a scheduled maintenance period, one has to wonder if someone on the CCP team was trying to give some freebies to a few buddies, and really screwed-the-pooch on it.
Only one of many possibilities, and we (the players) may never know, but one can't help but to wonder.
Its appreciated that CCP is working to fix this issue, and i hope that things get back to normal soon, as I have really enjoyed my time with Dust so far. |

that sounds great, but almost too great to be true.
I hope it's really doable, alto I can imagine several very difficult cases (already deleted characters, corp wallets already used up etc)
But most important thing is that doing the right thing isn't punished, that would be fundamentally wrong.
Either track and fix that difficult money laundry trail
or
Just undo the removal of extra isk and let _everyone_ have the same boost (unless for some mysterious reasons ppl had extra is in different amounts) |

But people got isk taken back that wasn't over paid what doing about that I lost 19 million I did not get any extra isk so who deal with that issue? |

I didn't know anything about the whole deal until it was over, Isk spent, mostly unlocking skills. I didn't think anything of it, honestly didn't look at my wallet amount. few days later I found out CCP screwed up. Everybody feels like they are being punished whether they spent it or not...
I know I made a mistake, one of good faith that the people making this game would have gotten things right to begin with then retroactively do whatever they are going to do in the end to fix it (honestly at this point I think the "fix" will screw something else up ). I didn't maliciously spend the Isk, I just didn't pay any attention after a crappy day at work and was trying to unwind.
I play this game as much for the community as anything else.
Last build was fun, this one has so many problems it's starting to feel like work and I hate being at work. 
Not everyone was trying to cheat.
who says there won't be more things screwed up "fixing" things ?

You do realize that they don't care if players scam each other in EVE, right? It's all part of New Eden's charm. You get scammed by someone in game, and lose billions of ISK because of it? Well that's your fault for trusting the wrong person, because that's one of the roles some people play in EVE. Hell, you can join a corporation and work your way up with the sole intent of stealing everything not nailed down and CCP won't care. After all, someone had to screw up and promote you to that kind of access. (They had a trailer promoting that 'feature' in case you missed it.)
Makes you sound naive complaining about 'scammers,' when all the real scam artists are in EVE and the majority of people who overspent in DUST just play this game as a game for fun, not some extension of real life bound by the same laws, where you have to watch every ISK you spend just in case the 'bank' makes a mistake. The people who did overspend on purpose exploited a mistake CCP made. Scamming the money from them would have involved someone tricking a programmer on the team into adding the ISK into their account then not giving him/her what was promised in return. (and that wouldn't have poured money into this many accounts.)
Oh, and in case you have forgotten, games are an entertainment medium, similar to but more interactive than film, that is used as an entertaining (ie "fun") diversion from real life. Not a carbon copy of reality with different textures.
One last note, after I pay them the 5.6 million ISK owed I will have no more assets than I would have had, had this mistake of theirs never happened. Just quit trying to over complicate entertainment. |
