Fixing this mess is so much work for you guys. I very much dislike the fact that fixing this issue is costing you guys manpower that could be used working on other things.
And this is happening because some individuals overspent. Those individuals, in their greed, have created too much work for you.
I'm tempted just to say that they can keep their negative wallet and work their way back. Almost all of them knew they were taking a risk. This is the thought that crossed my mind when I saw the extra ISK: "If I, or someone else, spends all this ISK, this will create extra headaches for CCP. And the headache may be painful enough that they'll just throw the towel in and let us keep the extra ISK/assets. It's a risk, but there will be one of three outcomes: (a) We get to keep the isk/assets; (b) We have the isk removed and CCP reimburses us; (c) We have the isk removed and I'm stuck with a negative wallet. The last would suck, and make customers unhappy, so it's most likely CCP will do one of the first two."
I'll bet this thought went through many people's minds, and so I have no sympathy for those who decided to act on it. They took a risk, and the risk didn't pay off. I don't want to punish them, but I don't want your manpower wasted on silly things either. There's other things I'd rather you be working on. That is what annoys me.
Negative wallet, a digital pox on those who decided to pursue a greedy option and make the world just a little bit worse. |
