"Dancing in the Dark"
"Delta we're picking you up on radar!" Wolf 6 announced. The fighters bank right and join up with Wolf, "Where are you headed, Delta?" one of the fighter pilots asked. "The MCC fleet callsign "Sea of Sins' requested air cover over at The Round Table!" Delta 1 responded. "We are willing to assist!" Wolf 6 said as they form up on their allies wings.
Moments later my siren came alive. "Missile lock!" I shouted and Delta 8 gets hits. "Behind us!" Wolf 2 screamed and all fighters broke off, missiles missing all of them my mere feet. The enemy planes soon followed in force. "We are outnumbered!" Wolf 5 barked. Delta 3 flew next to him and yelled. "It doesn't matter pluck their wings!"
"They got us separated!" Wolf 9 said. I look behind me and I have two on my tail, I break hard right with tracers flying past my cockpit. I glance to my right and see Shamrock get hit. "This is Delta 5 I can't shake him!" Our flight lead zooms past me and towards Shamrock. "Don't worry I got you, just hang on!" Shamrock pulls up and get strafed. "Damn her flaps are down, I'm punching out, sorry guys!"
Nickname unleashes is cannons barley hitting but taking out the fighter behind me and chases the one that disengaged me. "Nickname watch you fire!" I shouted. "Sorry, sir this bastard knows how to run!" I perform a loop and get on a tail on one of the enemy fighter and I fire a missile taking him out. "Bagged a bandit!" I shouted in joy.
"Good you want a medal, then come f'cking help me!" Delta 1 bellowed and I look to find him. "I'm hit! I'm going down!" said Delta 3. "Enemy fighters 4 o'clock!" Blackout reported. "4 o'clock for who you're not helping us here!" Junior howled. I pull up behind a fight that was tailing Delta 1 and unleashed my cannons tearing him apart.
"Who are these guys they are killing us!" Ark panicked. Another enemy fighter gets on my ass and I step on the afterburners to put on some distance. The man blast his cannons and strafes me, so I pull back on the stick and the enemy followed. "They are using dampeners I can't pick them up on radar!" Casper announced. This is bad, I told my self as I climbed. "Warning!" My computer told me. "Warning missile locked!" He pulls the trigger and the missile went loose. My mind raced, I can't dodge this. Then someone strafed the missile and the fighter chasing me. I look back a see Rain giving a victory spin. "Damn that was luck!" I said over the radio. "I think I just saved your ass, sir!" Rain said joyful then a fight lands on his tail and I dive firing my missile and the fighter destroying it. "Now we're even, son!"
"I'm hit!" Ark, Nightmares brother said over, COMs. Ark is the only natural in our squadron he doesn't have clone to replace him. "Brother, hang on I'm coming!" Enemy fighter swarm Nightmare drawing him away from his brother. "SOMEONE HELP HIM!" Nightmare begged. I look around and see everyone handling their own problems. Arks planes gets strafed again, this time we hear Ark coughing up blood. "Damnit I can't see there's blood all over the window, I'm scared!" The enemy plane strafes him again. "Oh god is my blood, brother help me, please!" Ark pulls up and the enemy plane follows. "Get away from me!" "Ark, bailout!" I shouted. "I can't the lever been blown off!" I stared at the smoke trail leaving the fighters as the enemy toyed with him. Nightmare try's to force his way to his brother. "Leave him alone!" Nightmare begged. Then a missile strikes the enemy plane and the others retreat from the airspace. "This is Wolf 1 splashed a bandit!"
We all form up on Ark to check is status. "I'm scared!" Ark said. "I know but it going to be ok we are going to fly you a nearby fleet." Nightmare lied. We all knew in his condition we won't make it. "Big Bro?" Ark asked "Yes" "I never knew I had this much blood!" "Hang on you're going to make it, mom and Sarah is wanting for our return. You can't die!" Nightmare cried. Ark plane slowly breaks away and his wreckage was that of fiery amber. "Good by Big Brother!" and Arks plane explodes.
In Nightmares angry he screamed. He screamed so loud that it could be heard from the Heavens. He then turned to the Wolves and asked where did you go in the fight. The Wolves draw back behind us. "Warning!" my computer said and I look at my radar and see that the Wolves are using dampeners. "Wolf 1 what are you doing?" Delta 1 shouted. "As Wolves we lay traps and attack as a pack!" He said. "You damn cowards!" I said. "Don't take it personally, they paid us more!" |
