I run Caldari shotty Logi since I could not give up my multiple REs and Mines. So the secret to beating a shotgunner is BACK UP AND SHOOT they cannot shoot while sprinting and are easily outranged and dead before they can make up the ground. If they are flanking you I don't think it matters what suit.
Plus buy some fused nades, these will pop them fast.
Here's the trick. Annie and i speced into this when the new build first hit so from first hand experience let us explain. Not all the gear is proto, hell we run the crg-3 just to fit in as much bee juice as we can. You technically could go all proto. proto shotty proto shields *all 5* 2 lvl 5 red catas and one lvl 5 green cata, but you NEED a lvl 5 pg unit along with core suit lvl 5 to even begin to think of carrying nades and nano hive. But it does fit.
What we discovered is balance. if you want to run at 9.25 m/s *what it caps at 3 reds* and still carry a lvl 5 green catalyzer in low, you need 4 proto shields *one enhanced if you don't have the pg* and a microfibril stim *or your substitue here* on the 5th high slot. To run this build you will need to use the crg-3 or specialist shotgun, there is no way you can fit a credron on this and still carry nano's and nades.
Now you may ask, why in gods name would you do this calamity? simple, speed tanking and the 3 lvl5 shields and one lvl 3 shields will still give you about 588 shields or there abouts with lvl 3 armor in your suit you should have 103 armor, so your still near 700 hp. so, not only will you melee at 148 damage a swing *with lvl3 micro fibril*, run at 9.25 m/s and have around 249 stamina, but you will also be an effective shield tank.
This being said, Annie and I have respeced from logi to mimi logi. we are effectively 150 hp less than the last build i just mentioned but we run at 9.83 m/s have 50% base to hack speed but still have the flexibility of the other logi suits as far as cpu and pg goes. Why would we do this? simple. ever see 2 bee's hack a point in a PC match in about 3 seconds? We have. We are tailoring ourselves for PC matches and in doing so have given up the caldari suit. I do miss it at times but the mimi logi is so neat with its hacking skill I think its a must have for a front line attacker like me.
To each his own, caldari shotty is a beast, enjoy it, play with it and be creative people! you have 5 high slots to tinker with for pete's sake :) Any questions regarding mimi or caldari logi shotty feel free to send a mail in game. I can at least relate my personal ideas on builds etc if nothing else. gl out there fellow shotty users! |

Garrett Blacknova wrote:Your Logi suit can out-sprint my Scout over short distances.
I can keep sprinting for about 20 seconds longer than you.
I don't see the problem.
For sustained speed, Scouts will always either have enough of an advantage in stamina or speed to outmatch a Logi for the job of regular fast repositioning.
not necesarily true, 2 lvl5 greens and 2 lvl 5 reds and the caldari runs at 8.63 m/s with a whopping 495 stamina. you can run for days! |

Every suit still out classes a logi in their respective role framework. Except the CaLogi, that racial bonus is insane. Actually the fastest a scout can go is 11.06 m/s, and that would give them 18 PG (All PG skills maxed out and in proto suit) to fix any other modules, weapons, or equipment. You're much more likely to see the 10.36 double Kinetic Minmatar with only 48PG and 245CPU to spend on other modules and equipment. But the 9.27 logo has 56.4 PG and 426 CPU to use plus 1 extra low slot, 5 highs, and 3 equipment slots. The 1m/s difference is easily made up with 426CPU worth of Shield mods... Think about how much that fitting is going to cost compared to an actual Scout, that can actually strafe. CaLogi is still stuck at moving 4.7m/s
true the fit can be expensive, but for a kb+m user like me the strafe speed is always running strafe. Look at the videos of us in the battles vs imps. You don't see me walking and strafing, its always a run strafe at 9.25 m/s. Its a scary thing. if your strafing in a logi suit and not running your doing something wrong. |

EDIT: I know nothing about shotguns so its a genuine question.
never found a real need for them, but again im a survivalist. To each their own, i have no doubt it would make a decent fit with 2 mods and 3 proto shields. you'd still have over 600 effective hp too. |

Logi shotties are good.... But I'm still making the scout shotty work.
And it will always work!!! :) more power to the scout shotties! Only reason i tried logi was the flexibility to experiment With new ways to murdelate people and fit what i wanted onto my suit. same reason i went assault suit last build. More power to my fellow scout shotties though. I tip my hat to you. |
