For the record, you might also consider quitting thinking that the console fps crowd is going to bend CCP to your will. You aren't that special snowflake. I will say that I wouldn't be shocked if future respecs come along, but I also wouldn't be shocked to see entirely new skill trees added with no respec whatsoever. Don't count on any future respecs. Choose wisely.

You have this backwards, if CCP starts denigrating the meaning of a persistent world where choices matter by wiping (or semi-wiping) those choices repeatedly then they shorten the potency, meaning and lifespan of the game. Loss of game lifespan > loss of theoretical population growth. EVE Online has been in a growth cycle (on balance) while other MMOs have largely been shrinking. Does it pull the total numbers of WoW? Nope. But it has a stable, lasting, and growing member base. Make it as spoon fed as the rest of the MMOs out there which "protect" players from any real meaning to their choices by always having an "undo" option on deck and you lose that population and stability. D514 exists within New Eden as well and as the link deepens the meaning of choices becomes all the more important. Skill development within Dust is about specialization and then diversity. Provide consistent respec and you've just stripped the second half of that out of the game. You no longer need to earn your diversity just stop playing for awhile and wait for the next respec game diversity and longevity will both suffer and player populations will ultimately fall not rise. Will protecting players from the consequences of their choices bring in more players? Most likely it will. But will those players stick around for a year, or two, or three? Or will they be off to the next flavor of the month game when they've exhausted the current content or been confronted by a more flat meta game due to consistent player respecs. Not to mention the way this will ruin the secondary market once that's live. CCP offering them now due to the game being new and the skill tree being overhauled, sure. CCP making it a matter of course that they happen every so often? Well let's just say I think they understand the sandbox better than to do that. 0.02 ISK Cross

It is also literally part of CCPs mission statement as a company (create a game where all your actions have consequences and meaning - or something like that). Also, why do you think I allowed for partial repecs? When CCP adds a bunch of new suits and weapons in the next release, they could very give players the chance to respes their weapon and suit skills.

Nerfing and buffing abilities in that tree after people have speced into them is not persistence. CCP has already broken its promises in the last month let alone the "NEXT TEN YEARS".
