Though I still play after I am capped for the week, there really isn't much motivation to do so.I have no ideas as to what could be done to fix this issue but something would be good.200k isk and 1500 sp just doesn't give me that urgent "I need to play" feeling i have when I am not capped.
Sorry if this was already covered.I mostly stalk the general discussion and rookie training grounds. |

You should play because it's fun! Not just for SP.
Your motivation can be to get good enough to represent your Corp in Planetary Conquest. Though, I see your in an NPC corp. |

Deadly is right. Join a player corporation and train. I'm a brilliant player, and that's because I play even when I'm capped, and don't care (much) about SP, unless I misplaced it. |

As i said I do still play after cap,and it is still fun.And ya I am in an npc corp cause so many of the corps posting in the recruitment threads "accepting all! just send app!" actually denied me immediately.Think I found a corp now though, just waiting on the accept. |

If you need a corp, join BSoTT. I'd forget your corp now. We have a 'Letter of Acceptance' graduation thing, where we will test you, and if you pass, you basically get a plaque saying, "This Guy Is Qualified For Any Corporation Ever". Our CEO, Bojo the Mighty, will talk to the CEO of the corporation of your choosing, and try to get you into that corp. :)
Love the name by the way. :)

You do have 2 alts to play with that don't have passive SP so they should give you a few extra days. I don't care about anything but fun and if I am not having fun I find something else to do. Playing other games really helps because DUST can feel like an extra job if you only live for the grind. |

He has a great point. I have no urge to play Maxed out SP right now.
I'm focused on increase my skills but at 1500 a match, limited kill board records, and rare PC matches that I rarely get to part tack in because my suit build does not fit the "standard". The motivation is lacking.
If they had more merc matches that reward faction gear. Or the killboards had a nova knife kill stat. I'd play far more often. |

No urge to play because the bar isn't filling up fast enough? I find it interesting that people are willing to be so tied to a Skinner Box and as soon as the bars are not moving, it stops being fun.
Alas, there is a reason to continue playing, aside from just personal amusement.
Let's say you do a 10 minute game and get 1,000 WP. Normally, that is 4,000 WP but once capped it is 1,000. Say you play an hour and get in 6 games. That's 6,000 SP.
"That doesn't sound worth it."
Well, is the Passive SP worth it? Because that is only 1,000 an hour. You can hit 6,000 an hour while play but even 2,000 from playing gives you triple what you would normally get from Passive alone. But don't play because the Skinner Box scratches that little mammalian/lizard part of your brain; play because you enjoy the game and want to spend some time shooting strawberries and laughing about it.
A television show can be boring to watch if you let it be. Get a Squad, get a mic, and just have some fun. There is some to be had. |

Clearly did not read either of my posts. It IS still fun and I DO still play.I am playing right now ffs.Are quests in World of Warcraft fun at max level? Sometimes they are, sometimes they are not.Either way there is a benefit, albeit less so than if you were not max level (or "capped). Same applies here.

I thought about the alt thing.I do have one on another account just racking up passive sp.But the idea of actively playing an alt on this account just doesn't seem right until this clone is up to snuff.Time spent on an alt right now is missed opportunity to further my main.
It is a very valid suggestion though. |

I would highly recommend joining a corp such as BSoTT. I'm a recruiting officer for my corp and I've started reaching out them to find mercs ready for PC. Coming with a recommendation goes a long way.
I'd approve the app from any person coming with a recommendation from them. |

I did read. I was simply stating that I never understood the people that do not play at all once they are capped. Always seemed to me like people weren't really enjoying the experience if they just stop once they are Active Capped.
Be well. |

Welcome to the Corp! I'll be happy to mail you some things you'll need to know about everything. And yea, no one has been on lately that could accept you, but I think Shieneighnay McBob was on last night to accept you. Or however you spell his name. |

I still play after I'm capped out for fun, but honestly I like that there is little other reward. Gives me a good chance to take a break if I need one without feeling like I'm falling behind. If you do anything for too long without a break it gets dull really fast, sort of think this is one of the reasons many multiplayer games have such strong player bases for a month but then completely drop off. |

Maybe when the PVE side of DUST514 is implemented gaining SP after someone reaches the SP Cap won't matter. |

I agree with everyone else you should play for fun, being new doesn't mean you can't have fun. Corp play Is fun but you don't need to be in a corp to play with corp members. Be weary about some of these fly by night corps who will recruit anyone and have little structure. IMO a great corp will allow you to join a squad and roll with them in public matches. Every corp has a different personality, find the one that is right for you, not the first spammer in the forum or local chat. Once you find the right group of people you will find games extremely fun and rewarding, regardless of the sp gain. |
