I know the CREST API currently isn't out yet but we all know this is something desired and this concept dances along the edge of feasible I hope.
Essentially this, SP allocation, ISK Purchases (probably non-aurum), in-game messages, Fitting Respecs. Would all have the possibility to be altered. But as a "queued changed".
The concept would be, that along with the character sheet/skills/augs menu, you'd have a Character Change Queue.
In it you could examine any changes proposed to the character, somewhat like an email. It would say what skills you had queued to purchase, Marketplace items ready to buy, messages you wrote to send later, and fit changes.
Overall: They would appear like messages and would show when the change was added, a short optional message, maybe the related API key (for tracking reasons). From outside the game, you could view Queued items but not alter them. Only add. That way no one can sneak in and change/remove queued items. From within the game you could view the changes for each item, thing like SP before/after, ISK before/after, what the fitting was before/after.
SP Allocation: This would probably be only 1 skill purchase as a time to help prevent shananigans and might be better implemented as a shopping list style thing that you can check for reminders. However I think the personal messages that come along might be important because I'm dumb and forget why I did things 3 hours ago.
ISK Purchases: I say no to aurum purchases for obvious reasons. Also I believe only Aurum items go on sale, or are available fora limited time. Which would complicate it if someone claims they had it queued but couldn't "get there in time for the sale to end". The ISK purchases would be in a shopping list style, show totals for each item, and a before/after of your total ISK. Donations/trading possible as well but I'd be more careful because it's one thing to make bad choices, and another thing to lose stuff.
In Game Messages: PS3 soft keyboard is awful and I hate pulling out the keyboard if I don't have it set up. It would validate Dust in game messages if we could write them on our phone or computer through an API program, and check them before sending next login. APIs could F with your stuff in this case, however. No one will double check a message that a program might modify before sending out but etc etc extreme case.
Fitting Changes: Would show items that were in suit, items being swapped into suit, be able to switch to a stat screen to check things out, and show before and after ISK/AUR cost per suit. Also probably an alert that aurum was used in the suit. |
