Halador Osiris Dead Six Initiative Lokun Listamenn 359	Posted - 2013.05.28 15:48:00 - [1] - Quote I honestly shouldn't be doing this, but I wanted to talk about Assault Dropships, Tanks, and the special relationship they have. If you are in the field and I'm over the field, you will be restocking that tank. This isn't a 100% chance, so I'm here to tell you how to bring that percentage down. Here's some tips: Any Assault Dropship pilot worth his salt has already cleared the turrets from the area. Expect no help from them. Don't travel alone. Bring either a tank, Assault Dropship, or AV. - If you are with another tank, move away from him. Tanks have a cone on top of them that a dropship is going to stay inside of and rain fire from above, so if you are spread out the other tank can shoot at him even if you can't. Also, two tanks stuck together is just begging to get OB'd. - Bring AV along in your small turrets. I received a nasty surprise attacking a tank one time. I got in the cone above him and a forge gunner and a swarm launcher jumped out. Dropships avoid swarms by running flat-out, and forges by weaving. It's not really possible to flat-out weave. If you're alone and being attacked by a dropship, your options are limited: - Make straight for the red line - Get under a structure with a LOT of surface area.It's pretty easy to shoot a tank that's under something, but if you can force the dropship to come down to shoot under something then you can shoot right back at him - Jump out and recall the tank Use the red line. I hate hate HATE red line tanks because there isn't a damn thing I can do about them. If you're near the red line, I can fire into it, but a railgun tank sitting back is absolutely infurating.

If I park my HAV on an incline on my redline or near it, you can't elevate high enough to escape me, and there is very little skill required for me to take dropships down (Or I have not played against good dropship pilots).

Railguns generally 2-3 shot me. If it was 3-4, I'd be a bit happier.

But all of what the OP said is true and will massively increase your chances of survival against ADS. and why'd youhave to tell them, the good tankers already knew this, now the bad ones will too.

Because your a fool to believe that your logi/tac ar are going to stay as powerful as they are now. Stats change nothing stays OP forever and they aren't going to be giving out free respecs like a pedo giving candy to children.
