Where do you get the 6000 number from? That's about the average concurrent users playing at any time. Not all Dust players are playing at the same time. That means the Dust population is quite higher, I'd estimate it at 30-50k. Take a look at eve-offline.net and convince yourself.
It takes allot of time because the game masters have to manually select and verify every petition that didn't contain the subject "Skill respec". |

I think they print all the support tickets and emails, mark the character name with a highlighter, sort them in alphabetical order and then either type in the names manually or run it all through an OCR reader (in which case they only need to go through everything to make sure it was read correctly). I hear some banks transfer data between systems in a similar way so it makes sense to me. |

90,000+? I would love to see that estimate source.
Beyond that, this is just yet another case of CCP promising more than they can deliver.
I've gotten so used to it by now, that I don't ever expect them to do anything they say on time. Heck, I just now discount any CCP promise or announcement as meaningless.
I'm waiting for whatever hilarious screw up is going to create a boondoggle with the Templar event.
My newest enjoyment is getting a good laugh at the people who are running around with either of the LAV BPO's. The fact that they wasted even more money on this game is the greatest hilarity on offer right now, aside from taking a big crap on pub matches with my Limbus. |

And there are no other weapons in the game? I suppose you have around 10M SP too?
Are people in this for the short term or the long haul? So you get leet with your MD, then what? Stick with that for the next 10+ years? So when (not if) CCP nerf something that makes you QQ are you going to demand a respec? Be thankful that CCP are giving us this chance for a respec!

Ok, so here are the real numbers :
More than 2.5 million mercs created, and usually a daily max of about 8k online at any one time.
For anything else, you're going to have to ask CCP.

If I'm interpreting the graphs correctly, we're currently looking at about 500 to 1000 new mercs per hour.
Now, yes, none of this directly tells us how many accounts are currently active. I think only CCP can answer that. |

So it only makes things worse that they will not comment or post anything, a time frame, a " oops sorry we ****** up"
Ccp who ever runs your customer service department is a ******. Me personally I didn't expect them to keep their word, so now everything they say will be taken with a grain of salt simply because they refuse to bring us in the loop.

I understand where you are coming from but you do understand that when you have certain events like the game launching or new builds come out and you see the amount that log on you get an idea of the die hards. The die hards and forum savvy players are the ones asking for respecs - not the casuals that just try or play in between other games.
You are also not taking into account the number of players who maybe on many of those hours - it isnt just a rolling number with different people passing through. The reason I highly doubt 90,000 and 2.5 million is obvious - I can constantly create new characters. Many ppl can try the game and never play again. Many die hards have multiple accounts and multiple characters.
I kind of guage it by the forum activity, taking into account that the forum is only a fraction of the base, though for a game like this it is probably higher than the norm and obviously events. We will see what the numbers are come the Templar event. |
