I'm planning on using the upcoming respec to move into playing a logi but I'm stuck on which race's suit would be ideal. Right now I'm focusing my attention primarily on the advantages and disadvantages of the advanced suits with protype suits more of an after thought since they're far far off for me
Amarr: Bottom of my list because of only 2 equip slots.
Caldari: I've always seemed to have more luck surviving with shields, but I'm worried because for as many people that I've seen saying this race is great for stacking shield extenders and surviving I see people complaining that its shield tanking is due for a nerf any time now.
Gallente: I've never had much luck with armor, when shields drop on any other type of suit armor seems to get eaten up even faster. Though I don't if thats just my poor luck or how much the class repair rate bonus in addition to repair modules would boost the survivability rate long term.
Minmatar: Seems the most balanced slot wise though not sure if the somewhat lower total health would offset that anyway, also the racial bonus seems really situational. |

Gallente have the most equipment Slots (4). Caldari are the most survivable with Shield Extenders. Amarr and Minmatar seem kind of left out because with only 2 equipment slots you are not much better than an Assault and, as you said, hacking speed is almost pointless. |

However, also remember that minmatar are fastest, and amarr apparently have high eHP |

You have been misinformed the Proto Minmatar Logistics suit also has 4 equipments slots. |

At prototype
Minmatar: 4 equipment Gallente: 4 equipment Caldari: 3 equipment Amarr: 3 equipment
If you want to be more of a combat logi go Amarr for the sidearm. If you want to be a tanking logi go Caldari. If you want to be a speedy logi with fast hacking go Minmatar. If you want to sacrifice all of the previous bonuses in order to carry 4 prototype equipment pieces (due to 25% reduction of CPU/PG) go Gallente. |

The prototype info is interesting but how do things balance out when you take the advanced tier suits into account? I'm just barely making the advanced tier modules and dropsuit so I'd prefer planning around that considering how long I would be using those before getting anywhere close to the prototypes. |

I'm not sure what all the racial variants are at advanced since I only run Gallente. However when I made my decisions I based it off prototype info. Sure I may of not been able to run it for awhile, but eventually I will so I wanted to pick something that would work best in the long run. |

actually its more wiser to save your sp even after the respec due to the placeholder dropsuits coming soon for scouts and heavys. but since you are going logi then i suppose it doesnt matter |

well I am running minmatar advanced at the moment and love it. I would suggest going minmatar or gallente for the 3rd equipment slot. I found without this it becomes a little difficult to fully support your team. I always run injector and repair tool and with the 3rd slot I can run either droplink or nano hives based on what we are doing. also with the 3/3/3 slot layout I find I can have a nice assortment of module to support my role.
I do wish the Amarr received the sidearm early in their progression. As a could see them doing a killer support role for the team. Maybe not so much logibro style but you could run a swarm launcher full time and still have a side arm(at proto currently) and still carry 2 equipment of any sort allowing you to help cover the more specialized combat roles.(in mmo terms the amarr logi screams hybrid caster like a paladin or ranger) |

Every suit except Amarr get three equipment slots at advanced though.

Aside from all other issues Amarr logi has, it should have at least been given its sidearm slot or a third equipment slot at ADV.
As to the OP, I will tell you why I am sticking with Minmatar Logistics:
I was in between Gallente and Minmatar (and Caldari for the tankiness, but I don't see that lasting too much longer). I knew I wanted 3 equipment slots at ADV, and I have big plans for 4 equipment slots at PROTO.
I was going to go with Gallente because of the fitting bonus which would have allowed me to use more PROTO equipment. But, I stuck with Minamatar after a lot of number crunching and second guessing. Basically, the Minmatar suit is the fastest which is something that cannot be improved upon (neither skills nor modules). Furthermore, it has a split slot load out which provides plenty of flexibility. |

How do you build on a Minmatar Logi suit? With Caldari/Gallente I know you focus on either shields or armor but I'm a bit at a loss at how I would fit a Minmatar suit at least at an advanced level for now.

It's really whatever you want. Lately, I run a jack-of-all trades. I am pubbing so I spend less on equipment. Current fit:
H: Exo-5 MD G: C-7 Flux
M: Complex Light Dmg Mod x 1; Enhanced Shield Extender x 2
L: Enhanced Shield Regulator x 1; Basic Armor Plate x 1; Enhanced Cardiac Regulator x 1
E: ADV nanohive, STD injector; STD repairer
It gives me a reasonable tank and takes advantage of Minnie speed by being able to GTFO. The MD is a terror weapon. You take your shots, get a kill and leave. Works even better when in a group and you are not primaried. Just lob away chipping at health. Or have them chase you while lobbing a flux at the corner, then finish off the armor.
I still have equipment support when I find a decent pub group in game.
The Minnie suit is flexible. I just would not do too much armor plate tanking. Part of its strength is its speed. My main support suit trades out the Exo and complex dmg mod and adds another extender and better equipment. Sometimes, I remove the regulator and add another basic plate.
I have yet to go x 2 dmg mod, but I will one of these days. Really flexible and fun suit. |
