Ive been using a rat 7 since it came out and have had no probs with aiming I have also used my old Logitech g9 mouse and had no probs with that mouse also. my keyboard is a Logitech g710+ and that's been working like a champ for dust. I got my mouse at 3400dpi for my mouse right now and use that for dust and bf3 and both feel the same for turning speed |

CCP should never have made this for PS3, it's a FPS game stick with PC. |

I would have agreed with you ten years ago. |

As far as dualshock is concerned, aiming seems fine, yes it's different from other games but it's not worth bitching about. I think the op has more likely got a problem with his set up. I think if we were to have a poll more people would say there wasn't a big issue than those who think there is.
I was one of those people that moaned at first but my situation was different, my hdmi ports are broken so I bought a cheapo component cable off eBay, for some weird reason this cable gave the impression of input lag when playing, so I purchased an official Sony ps3 cable and all is okay now, maybe your aiming issue is closer to home than you realise.
Even settings on your tv can have a negative affect on your gaming experience, so try tinkering with everything and see if it helps. |

Keeping my fingers crossed for that one to work I've got one of those, if you like I could be a dear and test it for you? Save you the money? (My other half has a Rat, so I could do a comparative!) Do this! My logitech g500 works as well as about anything on this build, but compiling a list of good mice for Dust would be invaluable! Alright! My mouse is at the other house, so I'll try and give results this evening I'm not particularly talented at using a mouse but I should be able to tell shitmouse from good right?
Easiest thing to do is just take a regular size mouse pad which I believe is about ~6" or so wide. Then put the mouse on the far left and then just count how many full 360's you can do.
On the RAT 7 I get about 3.25 full rotations with sensitivity at 100 and mouse DPI indicator at level 4. I'll come back with the count on the ZALMAN next time I load the game up. |

I just went to the store and bought some Zalman M400 mouse for $25 I believe.
Has a 800/1200/1600 DPI setting. This is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the RAT 7 on the PS3. The mouse itself is pretty comfortable although it is oo light. I like the weight of the RAT. At least DUST is becoming playable again.... So in the meantime all the RAT guys that are having issues, try the ZALMAN for now. Maybe other version of the RAT, like the RAT 9 or maybe the more basic versions of the RAT would work closer to the ZALMAN with a bit more weight I'm not sure.
Hopefully some one can chime in. At least I know what I'll be doing tonight. I think the X/Y Axis is still messed but this is light years ahead of the RAT 7 so far. Report more as I go. CYBORG brand products, like the RAT (and the RAT7 especially) are notorious for not working well, if at all, on anything but windows. They don't properly follow HID standards and depend heavily on their custom Windows drivers and softare configuration. You want a headache, try just getting the RAT7 to work in Linux at all, never mind any of the fancy features on it. Logitech is one of those companies you really can't go wrong with for keyboards, mice, joysticks, and headsets (your core peripherals for computers of any type.) They're high quality, reliable, durable, and follow all HID standards. They tend to work wonderfully out of the box on pretty much anything, and it's not even hard to get their more advanced stuff working on non-Windows operating systems (though obviously you won't be able to use that stuff on the PS3, since you don't get any special software, just the basis HID drivers.) This ^^ I swear by logitech gear ... I have 3 mice, 2 keyboards, 2.4GHz wireless joystick, Steering wheel n pedals ... their audio gear is good stuff too but I prefer my high end Sennheisers n class A amps with Tannoy n Wharfdale speakers :-))
But as I said earlier in this thread, my G700 mouse works pretty well since the mouse sensitivity hotfix the other week, only issue is with the radial selections everyone is complaining about, it can't be done with a sensitivity that's playable in battle.
Not sure about the G500 others are talking about, but the G700 has macro programmable keys, just plug it in a PC and run the software to map your grenades n E for nanite stab without the radial, if you set your injector in the impossible diagonal on the radial so your other equipment is accesible on horizontal or verticals it eases that problem a little. |

Right now the game uses a ******** virtual analog stick emulator for the mouse. So if you have a higher DPI you're going to be hitting the edge of the virtual analog plane faster and causing insane acceleration.
What you want to do is use lower DPI with higher in-game sensitivity. This.
FTR I'm using a Logitech G700. DPI set at 50% and mouse sensitivity at 70. Try turning Mouse Smoothing on or off. It's definitely borked one way; you'll know which immediately. |
