Logi LAVs are the new Sagaris' and Surya's. Because my expertise is in shield tanking, I will show ya'll how to build a proper Charybdis using one of three builds.

 The Scout

 Hull: Charybdis
Low power slots: 2x variable Vane Turbine (or the best variant you can fit)
High power slots: 3x Supplemental shield generator (or the best variant you can fit)
1x Kinetic Energy Recovery System (or the best variant you can fit
Small turret: 1x ST-1 Accelerated missile launcher

The reason this fit works is that unlike other fittings, it can go from a standstill to top speed in just over one second, allowing you to tear through hoards of red dots at close range. However, you are far less tanky than other fits so don't get brave.

 The Tank

 Hull: Charybdis
Low power slots: 2x local powergrid expansion
High power slots: 2x supplemental shield amplifier (or the best you can fit)
 1x azeotropic ward shield extender
 1x light converse shield booster
Small turret: 1x AT-1 Accelerated missile launcher

This fitting can take more punishment than any other fitting, but doesn't require the micromanaging that a similar HAV fit would use, as its resistance modules are passive. This way, the driver needs only monitor shields and not running into poles.

 The True Logistics LAV:

 Hull: Charybdis
Low power slots: 1x local powergrid upgrade (or the best variant you can fit)
 1x local power diagnostic system
High power slots: 1x wavelength active scanner
1x light clarity ward shield booster
 1x supplemental shield amplifier
 1x light converse shield transporter
Small turret: 1x ST-1 Accelerated missile launcher

Working in combination with a Caldari HAV or with shield tanked infantry, this fit can prevent flanking attacks, repair dropsuit shields and vehicle shields, as well as provide a small gun platform for AV duty.
Small turret: 1x ST-1 Accelerated missile launcher

So, if I wanted to fit an LAV for AV would I have to give up repairers/transporters and active scanners?

LLAV is not meant for AV but to fit one for "AV" just use the tank fitting just with a lower booster/shield extender and fit the best missile. for a blaster fit a active heat sink in place of the shield extender. should not fit a small rail, ever.

What are the base shield damage resistances on the Caldari LLAV?

I know the Galle LLAV gets like 35% armor resist, but I've seen some beast Cal LLAVs that seem to take almost NO damage to their shields when hit by anything...

Not sure but I think even with actives the Gall LLAV can hit maybe 60-70% total armor resistance... Would like to know what the Cal LLAV can pull since most AV really seems more focused on armor damage in the first place making the Galle pretty nice but something of a hazard

With max skills it can have a 20% resistance rate, put a shield amp or hardener on and you can up to 60% resistance, add on swarms reduced effectiveness and you get some ridiculous resistances.

Still a bit confused on what you're saying gbghg... I realize now though that "Shield Damage" doesn't actually show up on fitting stats for some reason... kind of weak sauce as that's kind of necessary knowledge to have. Maybe CCP doesn't want us to realize that they've made shield tanking broken as hell with actual stat numbers to prove it :P

I'm wondering if you mean to say that the Cal LLAV passive base shield damage resistance is only 20%.

In comparison, the Galle LLAV passive base armor damage resistance of 32%ish which it actually displays.
On top of htat you can put plating to push passive up to maybe 50% and then active modules for another 20-30% armor damage reduction?

With only 3 L slots though it means only 1 rep, 1 energized plate to push it to 43%ish passive, 1 hardener for 20%-30% active... or lose the rep for another energized plate and push passive up to 50%... Tough to pull unless you have a rep tool and can find cover to rep your own vehicle ever so slowly...

Remember that the Charybdis is a Logistics LAV so all turret damage is 50% less damage than other LAVs.

Join the channel " Matador Squadron " We there are prototype LAV drivers

Limbus and Charybdis people there to help and fight with you. I also have a scout LAV, Callisto.

Been informed that the Cal LLAV is likely the same 30% shield dmg resistance, despite the stat being hidden by CCP.

This means with the 4H2L setup it likewise can ramp passive up to 40-50% with actives pushing it up near 80% then possibly.

So, while it might not necessarily have a higher resistance, with about 90% of AV focused on anti-ARMOR and hardly anything besides Railguns and Forge Guns touching shields, the Cal LLAV is likely the more "tanky" of the two. With CCP love of shields and no real shield-focused AV, if you're going for an assault vehicle the Cal LLAV may be the better choice.

I still feel the Gall LLAV is possibly the better option for actual LLAVing as a decent transport and defensive positioning vehicle for members to be able to quick-rep themselves with the vehicle's armor rep module though the CPU imbalance between Gall and Cal makes it a trickier loadout and tighter fit.

Except the Charybdis does 50% less damage with turrets.

My Charybdis fit for any who are interested is as follows

 Low slots
2x local pose grid expansion units

 High slot
 1x surge shield hardener
 1x aziotropic shield extender
 1x wavelength scanner
 1x supplemental shield extender

 Turret
 1x at cycled missiles

This fit has a total tank of
 3433 shields
 884 armour

And I have both shield and armour upgrades maxed. I use this as my general LLAV setup, and tend to switch between using the inboard repper and teaching the foolish red dots the importance of AV and looking both ways before crossing the road.

How much is the shield recharge rate? Seems like without a booster it can take awhile to get full shields.
