So like when they had the Scrambler Rifle, Flaylock Pistols, and Plasma Cannon skills available before any of those were actually being available in the market? Sounds fine by me. I know a few people who spec'd way into Scambler Rifle Proficiency before it even became available. Plus would stop further complaints for respecs when all the racial variants of basic gear is at least available to spec into.
That said, still seems a little silly. |

I expect it will be somewhere between a Tactical Sniper Rifle (Railgun) and a Galente Assault Riffle (Blaster). Unlike the Tactical Sniper Rifle, the Caldari AR will have hip fire capabilities and probably be an automatic since it is an Assault Riffle. It will do less damage than the Galente Assault Rifle, but have a much longer range.
By the time the Caldari Assault Rifle comes out the Galente TAC AR will be nerfed, and the Caldari Assault Rifle will become the go-to long range AR.
At Fan Fest 2013 they said the Caldari Rail Rifle will be similar to the Breach Assault Rifle, high damage but lower rate of fire and less range. |

The seems counter to how Railguns and Blasters work in EVE.
