One person says.."stay behind cover". Great, maybe I can hack objectives with my telekinetic powers.
Another says, " av grenades are not effective against shields, use flux"..Great, maybe I can destroy it with a nova knife after I've depleted its shields.
Acknowledge that LAVs are out of control and there needs to be sone changes. Teaming up to destroy an HAV is one thing but having to take 2 or 3 people to ou t LAVs is another. I run proto AVs, and I have to restock sometimes. |

STOP THROING AV NADES AT SHIELD VEHICLES! How hard is that to understand? Use flux. Skill into it. The LLAVE is a damned adv vehicle, and you are throwing std variant AV nades, which weren't even designed to be used against the type of vehicle you're throwing them at. Come on man. Use ya head. Better yet, you really want to see one of them Caldari LLAVs go boom skill in to the plasma cannon (into proficiency) slap two damage mods on it, pack a little flux with you, skill into sub machine guns so you can run around with that plasma cannon, and then you'll have your solo kaboom against that Caldari LLAV. Why does everybody want something for free? I sware you guys, like the guy in the OP of this thread, are just as bad as the guys who run around spamming free LAVs.
Sh!t, it's not even as complicated as what I discribed above, pack some proto flux and a flaylock. Blam job done. This really isn't that hard people! |

MLT LAV's are a problem yes, as they require no investment. But what about the guys who specced into LAV's? You put your sp into infantry, they put it into vehicles. If you scream nerf and the devs listen to this sillyness, then your ruining the game for the LAV guys. If people screamed nerf over your class, and it was nerfed, would you find this game fun? Something needs to be done, but I'm fed up of nerfs. I used to cry when I seen a laser beam, or run like a bat out of hell when I seen a fat dude. Now a laser tickles and my TAR blitz's a heavy. This game is losing variety with these nerf's..

Even with the 70 vs shields, that's over 10k damage. It's a LAV. The L stands for Light. I've seen good, skilled HAV Gunlogi pilots fall to that. When a light vehicle can out tank a HAV, there's a problem.

Alright, first, I'm just strait up going to call you a l lier. Then, I'm going to correct your math for you:
With the stats you gave, this is the damage out put of your swarms per clip against the Caldari LLAV:
5,929.308 (that's 1,976.436 per volley)
The strongest Caldari LLAV I can build has the following shIeld eHP:
5,267.751
That leaves plenty enough damage left over, after the shields are gone to completely destroy the armor. So once again I'm calling you a lier. I been nailed by proto swarms I know what kind of damage they do, and I can tell when they are proto by counting the number of impact explosion. Plus you're doing it wrong. Put down the swarms and AV nades and pick up a plasma canon and some flux. |

There's a variety of skills and weapons for a reason. Just because you decided to go full on assault and maybe skill into standard AV nades doesn't mean that's the only type of suit that's run in the game. You chose to fight infantry and suffer from the lack of anti vehicle skills that you did not spec into. Those that dedicated into AV have no problem with vehicles but suffer when going against infantry. Those that specc'ed evenly into both have a fair chance at survival when confronted by enemy infantry or vehicles. Don't whine because you didn't invest your skills wisely and Expect to instawin against anything. Those who chose their roles chose to accept the rewards and punishments of their elected skill path. |

I want to point out that missiles, and thus swarms, have a crap-all efficiency versus shields and are ideal for anti-armor. it is about base 69% vs shields and 127% versus armor, or something close to that. |

I enjoy the free miltia LAVs for transport and for running over proto spamming foobs "lol good 1m suit you got there sir" as am grinding my free wheels over his face, but damn these logi LAVs are a pain in the ass when your AV grenades bounce of em like nothing. That said, aint war hell |

Story of my life in this game.
Get run over my LAV, lose expensive suit.
Come back with good AV nades and proxys.
No LAV in sight.
But wait, look at all these infantry players swarming my position.
Would have been fine if I had my regular nades equipped.
Die.
Come back as anti-infantry.
Oh look, a bunch of LAV's showed up again.
Get run over.
Rinse and repeat.
What we really need is dual grenade slots, tired of having to forfeit my extremely useful locus nades to deal with annoying LAV's (which usually never present themselves when I actually have AV nades on me).

Guys, I'm thoroughly surprised at you all.
The LAV has ALWAYS been nerfed, and at last they finally brought it up to its proper level. This is, in fact, doing us all a favor by bringing back Vehicular warfare.
In the past, LAVs were destroyed in a couple AV grenade throws, or even one SWARM/Forge Hit.
There's no point in having Vehicles if they're too weak, right? And besides, it fits its purpose at last.
Light Armored Vehicle/Light Assault Vehicle's should remain the way they are.
Maybe, just maybe, lower the HP stats on the Onikuma/Baloch starter LAV's (Or remove them altogether) and raise the stats for the LAV's we paid $100 for (Ishukone Watch Saga) and other higher-end LAV's. |

Nightbird Aeon wrote:So... playing the Ashland skirmish map ( link here), and I was trying to get some red dot off the pipes over B. When..... BOOM, run over by a LAV. On the platform. Next to B. WTF?!? Anyway, I respawned with some Packed AV grenades, and because of the tight quarters, the LAV was still trying to do a 3-point turn and get off the platform. I hid behind some boxes and threw 3 AV grenades..... thinking that I would get my revenge... and barely took the LAV down to half shields. I was standing in a nanohive, so I had restocked grenades... and I tossed 2 more before the LAV got away. Still no "kaboom". Where's the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom?!?Was this LAV really a HAV, dressed up for what passes for Halloween in New Eden? Because it sure had the HP of a HAV! Now, for repping, restocking, or just rapid (armed) transport across large maps, I think LAVs are a great idea. But that's not what people are using them for. People are using them to run others over, and with the HP buff, the threat of infantry with AV grenades is a non-issue. If you were to reduce collision damage to 0, I'd bet you would see a 99.99% reduction in the number of LAVs called in. Just that, in and of itself, demonstrates the broken mechanic that is LAVs. +1 for the video |
