After reading many post about how it is unfair to new players in this game, and the lone wolves that die all the time to teams that seem to over power them. I have decided to give some of things I have learned over time. In hopes that it will help some new players.
My recommendation to every new player out there:
1) Is turn on your mic. Set it to push to talk in on, and listen to some players. When you want to talk to then it is the left button on the D-pad (the pad with the four buttons). You can only talk to them when you are on the group or not in a loading menu or stats screen when on push to talk. Turn push to talk off and everyone will hear everything you say all the time. It can get annoying so be mindful of background noise and constant chatter. If you are on team chat at the end of the match you will lose coms with someone you were talking to. This leads to #2.
2) If a player doesn't annoy you and has a squad join it and run with said player. If they don't have a squad make one. Running with players help to get a build up of War Points or WP after you reach 2500WP the squad leader can call in orbital strikes. I recommend that when in squads every now and then you change who the leader is so each person has a chance to learn how to do that. Pick up more players as you go.
3) Learn the maps. If you are on a map for the first time try and learn it. There are many good areas for each type of player on every map. Some are close combat, but still have areas for the pesky sniper and vehicles. Some are wide open and are good for snipers and vehicles, but the close combat person is the person moving the ball and getting the objectives.
4) Work as a team to reach a goal. Remember the objectives are not always the goal. Sometimes doing the most damage to people making them spend their isk is just as good as capping objectives.
5) Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock. Each class of weapon has a good side and down side. No one weapon will work 100% all the time. That being said it is good to specialize in the weapon you like most in order to make it more powerful. Use all the weapons in the militia. Make suits that use everything before giving all your skills away. See what works for your play style, and then train your skills into that. Militia weapons/suits/equipment Do Not Need Skills to use them.
6)Low on PG and CPU? Dropsuit core +1% to PG and CPU per level Dropsuit Electronics +5% cpu per level Dropsuit Engineering +5% pg Per Level
7)Need more Shields? Dropsuit Shield +5% per level Shield Extension +2% to shield extenders Shiled Recharge +3% shied module efficacy Shiled Regulation +2% to shield Regulator module
8)Need more Armor? Dropsuit Armor Upgrades +5% per level Armor Plating +2% to armor plate module Armor repair module +5% armor repair per level
There is so much more, but this will get you on your way. Most of all take each death as a learning experience. |

After you've picked a milita weapon you like and have skilled that to level 3, consider stopping there and putting 1 level into the weapons that don't have militia variants and playing with the standard level of those(mass driver, laser rifle, scrambler rifle, etc.) |
