Try this: buy an armor tank. Militia works fine. Put in as many active modules as you can. Start a battle and try to activate modules precisely. Try it with a mouse if you can. You will probably find what has been happening to me since Uprising started; the wheel 'slips' away from what you want to activate and activates something else. Even worse you can turn off modules. Even worser is that sometimes the modules turn on without releasing. Even more worser is that sometimes the modules turn on without you releasing and THEN turn off once you release.
Imagine how crippling this is for tanks. You go to activate a Hardener and your Booster/Repairer turns online when you are full life. Imagine turning on your Repairer and trying to get another Hardener online only to have your Repairer turn off. I swear I have lost more Tanks because the stupid thing slips than out of me being greedy and being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I think it has to do with the fact that all modules gravitated to the same side of the wheel. In Chromosome, High Modules were on the Left side and Low Modules were on the Right. With this change, everything gets so dang cluttered that it just becomes too hard to run modules.
CCP: Please look into this. I have no idea exactly what happened from Chromosome to Uprising but it makes it very difficult to play as a Tanker when you need to use the slippery wheel. |

It really does sux.
Active moduled tanks are almoost impossible to use, to many mistakes are made when we try to activate the modules.
Remove cooldown on active modules and lower the bonus a bit. put auto repeat on modules like we have in eve.
Problem solved.. |

It is just the Slippery Wheel that needs to go. In EVE Auto Active Modules use cap, which doesn't exist in DUST. I like the Cooldown part but that stupid hamster wheel is so frustrating.
Do you remember the same problem being in Chromosome because I really don't. |

Yep. Closing a defend order always seems to slip to an attacking one.
Not sure about getting rid of it. I have no idea why? Input lag? But it's quicker to swap to your side arm than it is pressing R2. A massive problem in the middle of a fight. |

Yep, I posted tons of threads about this and tried to explain what I think changed in uprising to cause the problem
It's a HUGE problem
I've lost tens of millions in vehicles every week because of this. I'll dig up the threads later. omg please ...fix this |

I hate to just bump a thread without adding content, so I will not bump this thread to just bump it.
Wait...
But seriously, this is a huge problem for a Tank that has more than 3 active modules (IE, Armor). |

Agreed. I was trying to use an Active Scanner today, and I kept switching to my sidearm. Got me killed a few times because someone saw I was bumbling around like an idiot. |

Been having the same very problem with putting down a defend order. I'm using a KB/M and with the mouse the wheel just doesn't seem to want to stick at the defend order. I all ways end up with an attack or rally order (i think that's the one next to defend ??) I'm not doing much tanking but please CCP this is one of those problems that again worked fine in chromosome but now doesn't work. I've also heard these complains from Pad users but tried it myself and it s somewhat easier to actually use the "fly wheel" there. With a mouse it's equal to useless. |

The ability to just hit "L1" or whatever the button is to activate the currently selected module would be a really welcome change. Similar to how hitting R2 will swap your weapons but holding it brings up the wheel. (From a DS3 perspective, I don't use KB/M) |

I have tried it on a DS3. It is much worse on a Mouse, though still a pain. However, playing games for longer periods of time that require using my thumbs and trigger constantly makes my hands turn into meat hooks.
But again, does anyone remember this problem being as noticeable in Chromosome? In Chromome, my Tank had 3 Hardeners, 1 Signal Amp, 1 Active Heat Sink, and 1 Repairer. I NEVER activated a module wrongly. This time around, it seems to happen so often. |

I don't drive tanks but I do feel your pain as I am a logi and frequently have to use the equipement wheel to rep mercs or supply ammo. More often then not I end up shooting friendly mercs with my gun thinking I have successfully equipped my rep tool. Don't even get me start on the broken Nanite injector...
Fix it please!!!!! Hear our cries CCP! I really want to keep playing this game! |
