I would like to know how tankers are fitting themselves: Modules, Skills, Tank Type, and the situations you use your tanks in. Tanks have received a string of nerfs recently and I am curious if this has affected the power dynamic between shield and armor. In closed beta the armor tanks were something to be feared, but a good shield tank could still kill one. Tank vs Tank aside... how have you adapted your fits for AV fire?
I encourage everyone to keep things civil and in context. This is not a thread to say anything is OP or UP. This thread is to share universal strategies used to handle AV in the current build and tank on tank warfare. Your tank fits followed by your mindset on their use would be greatly appreciated. I thank everyone in advance for their contributions! |

My favorite tank in this build is the Ishukone Watch Saga. Though, when I do serious tankin' I call in my Methana. I didn't bother with the scout or logi tanks. |

While I was mainly referring to HAVs I recognize the validity of LAVs being able to tank. Would you mind sharing your thought process when fitting them and how you put them to use? While this information might become outdated with the rework surely to come, I would like to compile a spreadsheet of vehicles in the current build. I wish to primarily focus on the HAVs though. |

While I somewhat agree, the recall feature allows one to switch to an appropriate fit to respond. So, what's to stop me from recalling a blaster tank and call in a railgun myself? Or is it that in the current build tank survivability has dropped to the point where a rail tank can pop you before you can respond? |

This thread is a good concept but anyone in there right mind would not share their tank fits, especially if they are good at all.

Yup. All of the old tankers don't pull tanks anymore. Its all about the Logi LAVs. If you see someone in a tank this build, they're probably not part of the old guard. HAVs have become all but extinct. Every now and again you'll see one go 15:0 with redline sniping, but that's pretty rare, now. There aren't any good ways to fit tanks, now. Just "better" ways. |

lol I eat your logi lavs for breakfast try rolling past me
I can understand your lack of trust in my old build tanking but I am sticking through the fight thick and thin.
And for no good ways to fit a tank if you have more than 8 million skill points. 2/3s of a brain and 10 minute to do some simple math and try things out you could have a tank that goes 15:0 regularly like mine. |

Noob^ While I appreciate different views and styles of play, please refrain from name calling and/or single word responses. We also seem to be straying from the topic at hand. The purpose of this topic is to gather statistics on the performance of the vehicles in the current build. My interest being mostly directed at HAVs, as I can't seem to get how they are viable. So, if there are any serious HAV users left... I would like to hear their take on the current build.
Your views on LAV strategies and performance are still welcome, but please be constructive. I need stats, fits, and the state of mind in which you use them. |

You turn tail and try to run only to make yourself an easier target. You die. How many skill points have you wasted for your pathetic tank?
Even after i get my respec if i see your tank on the field, i will use only a milita tank to pop you. My only regret is that i won't be able to hear your rage~~~ |

Logistic LAVs are the way forward for Vehicle Players, can confirm I can take three shots of a Prototype forge, just like my Gunnlogi, but I can take 4-5 Lai Dai Packed AV grenades before losing all my shields, and if I take 4-5 Packed AV grenades, the 5th was probably the one that hit as I drove out of your range.
Logistic LAVs are very cheap (Can fit a great Charybdis for less than 250k, providing you don't want good turrets.) and the most effective build for me would be top modules (Booster, Extender, 2x Resists, 2x Powergrid Units, 1x Std Missile), giving you nearly 2900 Shields, 1250 Armor with an effective HP of around that of a well fitted gunnlogi, for a fraction of the price. This fit will allow you to go 10-40/0 with great ease as long as you're not an idiot.
Oh, and don't bother trying to rep people with it, it's a waste of time since CCP broke the Infantry repper.. again |

Asking a tanker for his specs is NEVER a good idea. = )
We're so rare (the ones who aren't terribad I mean... and I'm certainly not all that) any advantage we can get in our std HAV's is taken. I know I'm making another alt RIGHT now to test out armor (as compared to shields).
Last build the only issue was the slow speed. Turns out that may have been remedied. = ) |

there only 1600eHP difference from my charybdis to my standard gunnlogi fit. think that says it all. there's one forge gun round difference between the two. and that's with missiles(STD) on HAV and yes I could tank the HAV more but missiles do so little its not really worth it. fully tanked gunnlogi I might was well use the Charybdis, i would get kills faster and be able to use speed to help rather then hurt me. |
