So far I've been having a bunch of fun running squads in FW, but there are a few things that need tweaking.
1. We need to be able to que as a full team. Any given weeknight I'v got enough nerds looking for a squad in FW to fill two full teams. It's hit and miss with just synching, and often times it turns into a debacle trying to get everyone in the same battle. Please let us skip the hassle of getting a couple different squads synched up and just let us take a full team into the next battle that opens up.
2. We need more battles. Trying to enter into a battle with just a 6 man squad can be hard when the only battles that are showing up already have 30-32 people.
3. LP and other reasons to pick a side are coming soon(tm), I'm sure. I'm just reminding you how much those will help the game. Please hurry. |

I very much agree with this. I'd like to be able to go into starmap and pick the district I want to fight in and then queue into the battle that way. While starting the match you could basically invite squads to join and in that way enter as a full team. Once it's been finalized by the person starting it, it could then appear in the mercenary tab. |

So you're basically saying that we could directly attack specific districts and then force a defense or else we just burn through the objectives unopposed? I would love to be able to do this. It would also be cool if we had options to participate either as "soldiers" of a particular faction or as true mercenaries. I think the difference (in this case) would be that only "soldiers" could initiate attacks on enemy districts though both could defend.
Here's how I picture it:
We're a Minmatar Militia corp, with appropriate numbers (minimum 1 squad of 6), we can initiate attacks on any enemy Militia held District though once initiated, it needs to be seen through. We can bring along non-Militia affiliated merc associates as well as "allied" Militia soldiers. We have these options available to us through either the star map or through a new option on the FW tab of the Instant Battle menu "Minmatar Militia-- Initiate Attack". If a defense is necessary for the Minmatar Militia, we can also join these battles through either the star map or through a new option on the FW tab of the Instant Battle menu "Minmatar Militia-- Defense". Any battles that have been successfully initiated by fellow members of the Minmatar Militia will also show up in the FW tab of the Instant Battle menu (this option isn't available for non-Militia affiliated mercs).
Anyone who wanted to join an attack already in progress would need to be in the attacking Militia (though could bring along anyone who wasn't a member of an enemy Militia) and would need to be approved by the initiating SL (similar to a fleet advert that required permission).
True mercenaries would see the FW tab a little differently, they have only the option for "Accept Defense Contract" which would throw them in on the defending side of an ongoing attack.
Whichever side is defending should have all battlefield assets to begin with, though to simulate surprise attacks, they should also start spawning 30-60 seconds after the attackers. Defenders that are soldiers rather than true mercs would get the ability to place a single dropsuits worth of equipment on the battlefield before spawning (dropped using a UI similar to dropping orbs) to simulate familiarity with the battlefield and preparedness to defend it.
I hope that is at least somewhat coherent, I am half-asleep here. |

That would be a great idea, Alaika. I'd love to be able to help our allies in space flip a specific system.
I'd also love to see a defined front line for the combat. I want to be able to point my nerds to a map to show them how there efforts are changing the face of the galaxy. |

team size will be increasing some time soon, from anywhere between 18 men on one team, to 30, that way we have 36/60 man fights going on. right now they are tying to cope with server t roubles from pulling us onto Tranquility.
as time goes on things will refine, and sharpen down, CCP has ALOT on their plate at this point in time, but i really hope to see the increase in team size rather soon |

Rather than waiting for FW matches of your flavor and queuing up if you can manage it, people aiming to support a certain faction should have an actual queue.
For example,
Your corporation believes in the righteous cause of the Empress, and wants to support the Amarr only in any engagements. Faction Warfare provides a separate "Amarr queue". You can queue up singly, as a squad, group of squads, or a full 16-person outfit - as blocks.
After adding yourself to the Amarr queue, instead of repeatedly refreshing the faction warfare tab and looking for openings, the server takes people from the queues first to fill in matches. This could make matches sort quicker as well. If the queue can't sort all of the "blocks" into a single match, the blocks go to the next Amarr cause, and the match gets put in the FW tab for smaller groups and randoms to fill out.
Right now, it's both tedious and time-consuming to try to get a large group into FW, this would make things much easier on our end.
I also think faction warfare needs some sort of reward system and tracking to reward Dust mercs for devotion to a particular cause. Unique faction-related gear is an obvious one, but I think it's mostly important that our efforts be recognized on our end. We have no stake in factions at the moment. If we randomly chose factions every time, our rewards would still be the same. |

After some more extensive testing I've come to the conclusion that we still need more frequent battles and the district # to be displayed in the warbarge. |
