Bunnyhopping needs to be stopped.
It's bad enough aim controls are still crap and hitbox detection is often non existent but having players jumping up and down as soon as they come under fire and being able to continue fighting as if their feet were on the ground is just sad.
If you're sprinting you're unable to reload, use items, or even fire but if you're jumping up and down like a manic rabbit you can do all of those?
Player actions should be tied into the stamina bar. The more tired you are the less effectively you're able act.
Someone tries bunnyhopping their way through an engagement and their shots start landing all over the place, their grenades are way off course, it' takes them twice as long to reload their weapon and melee attacks hit with less force.
Seems both fair and realistic doesn't it? |

I love it when a person jumps when I shotgun them, because that means I get a free shot on them when they land |

Scouts sprinting and bunny hopping is a huge issue. Yes it takes stamina and most people can only jump 1-2 times before its gone....but scouts can jump several times and still sprint away (or at least 30m to where they are out of range). I have seen a scout jump over a heavy and shotgun him in the back before he could turn....and that was with him sprinting straight at him through a barrage of HMG fire. |

Aaah, those were the days... OH! Sorry, I was thinking back to a time in Chromosome when I did that in my Valor suit, except instead of a shotgun, I had Nova Knives. |

less jumps on scout suit would be decvent and m4 jumps on assualt suits would be better.
jumping is for getting over obstacles like a piece of railing or something in our way i cant tell u how many times ive had to walk around an abject instead of jumping over it.
oh and people with nova knives should not be able to basicly fly around the battle field and jump over players.
besides jump allows ppl to aviod some gunfire and grenades while in combat i do know it takes to much stamina away but having to wait for stamaina to refill to jump again is a life or death situation especialy when trying to take short cuts that a sniper might be watching... |

I like firing my mass driver at a scout to have them jump over the explosion, my MD apparently has a blast radius of 3m scouts can jump 4m atleast it would appear. |

yes, MD only has 3m splash natrual now... they NEED to fix that, because beinb able to jump over an explosion of sharp fragments should not be survivable |

Lead your shots. Bunny hoppers are basically letting you know where they're going to be so you can shot them easier. |

Anybody that uses biotics mod lows get more than 2 jumps. Anybody that jumps just for the sake of it when getting hit is doing more harm to themselves than they realize:
Depleting stam - can't sprint away Increasing profile but not increasing threat - "Here I am! SHOOT ME!" Enabling people further back to see them over hills/objects they couldn't before Moving in a trajectory that can't be modified mid-air - good chance of getting stuck
Cosgar wrote:Lead your shots. Bunny hoppers are basically letting you know where they're going to be so you can shot them easier.
This. If jumping "saved" them it's because they either got behind cover that running would've worked for, or you tried to alter your vertical pitch on each jump and missed.
Ignore the fact that they're jumping and lead horizontally only. |

Let me translate this.
"Scouts are using their meager natural advantages strategically to make up for their extremely low survivability! We should nerf what little bonuses they have so that I can kill them with my big guns. :("
Seriously, if you think that jumping is at all ruining game balance then you're terrible to begin with. |

You can only jump 3 times without resting no matter how much stamina you have because the stamina usage increases for each consecutive jump. The third jump will empty your stamina bar no matter how much stamina you have. I know this because I use scout suits and have complex cardiac regulators.
The first jump will use a small bit of stamina, second jump will use somewhere around a quarter of your max stamina, and the third jump will empty your stamina bar even with complex cardiac regulators fitted. |
