These along with many others drive me insane. It isn't hard to write a halfway proper sentence, no one's expecting you to be perfect, but at the very least try to achieve a writing level higher than a fifth grader.

Grammar is somewhat important. Commas do save lives for instance:" Let's eat grandpa." "Let's eat, Grandpa."

Add "could of" and "would of" to that list. It baffles me how people think that's the correct spelling for "could've" and "would've". "I could care less" sort of rubs me the wrong way too...

I don't complain about people's grammar, seeing as I make mistakes too, but it tends to be quite hard to read some posts if the grammar and punctuation is poor.

Communication is about delivering a message. You know what is being said, don't be a jerk and make fun of someone because of how it was delivered.

You're right, the problem is, messages are often misinterpreted due to improper grammar and punctuation. A communication delivered with proper grammar and punctuation is more easily understood by the audience. Indeed, this is the reason grammar and punctuation exist.

^ I loled. Seriously though poor grammar and puntuation make some thing unbearable to read. I know I make more than my fair share of mistakes too. I often skip entire posts on these forums after the first few words due to them being very hard to read.

Actually this one breaks the mind logic. It has been mostly proven that as long as the first letter and the last letter are correct, that our brains can actually translate mispelled words. When I read your message I first thought it meant "This Thread is true or false" Then I realized that had no context and looked again using my knowledge of forum memes and realized it meant full of fail.

Your message is an actual example of why there are misunderstandings in communication.

I actually had to go back and read this three times to decipher what you were saying. I possess a fairly high reading comprehension level (post graduate). I pity someone who has a low reading comprehension level trying to understand some posts on these forums; I imagine they simply give up.

It's not about understanding the message, it's about the impression one is left with when reading something that resembles a child's text message. I've never understood people that white knight for lazy posters. It's not difficult to write properly. I'm speaking for myself here, but I find it easier to read posts rather than decipher them.
