I really miss EVE Online after looking through all the videos, screenshots, stories, and even the polished Disc case. But going back now would be another huge time commitment. Now I'm with Dust 514 and I hope it would be just as great and massive as EVE Online one day. Right now, most of us have to bear with the newberries when it comes to the broken toys that they can't seem to be patient about. When most of them are weeded out, the mature community will be here to stay. At least, I hope so. Frankly, I was embarrassed to look through the EVE Online forums where they saw our forum here with all the newberries complaining. But what can we do? What we can do as a community is to look at EVE Online community's example and just report the problems without whining the best we can and to remind the newberries without stroking any flames. I know CCP is doing all they can and they can't intervene us all the time when they have already said they're working hard to fix all the problems on the game. |

To be honest they are working on ways to seperate you from your cash.
Fixes you like are a byproduct of this and nothing more or they wouldn't have released things in such a broken state in the first place. |

I kinda doubt it, Eve has quite a large amount of whiners, just a different complaint than in Dust. |

Ain't that the damned truth. Earlier today I spooked my corp about the likely possibility of our ISKs and assets being stolen one day. Most newberries don't know this yet. CCP's going soft right now until the steady growth and when everything's fixed, aren't they. |

And in Dust you do also.
1. Recruitment corps
2. Give 'em the steel-cap boot after the spy is discovered in a match.
You have to consider in EVE kicking someone doesn't make them magically disappear like newberries want right now in Dust. |

Everyone complains, but I think the EVE community has certain problems that are very different from Dust 514. If EVE was in the early stages like Dust, then that would be understandable. But most of the community on Dust comes from FPS games, especially COD and they act like children or have ADHD. I can't deny that some of us who regularly play Dust and participate in the forum here come from COD too, but that doesn't mean all of us are the same. I do complain too, but I try the best I can to be respectful. |

Let's take a look at some of the things Eve players complain about. A thread I see quite often is asking for the claiming of asteroid belts, which not only they do no work to find but that's also whining about people mining "your" ore. Another one that comes up every few weeks is for the removal of corp friendly fire. One that has a legitimate reason to be complained about is often related to a scenario it doesn't apply to, that advantage being having someone remote repair your ship during a duel. And last but certainly not the least brought up is afk and "afk" cloaking in another alliance's sovereignty. Which in either case you can't be hurt by the ship until it's uncloaked. |

Yea but in EVE its not abusing a broken mechanic.
Like others have said you dont need to gain any actual trust to sabotage a PC battle, you just have to get into the corp. |

Kinda ironic, I didn't think to post an idea for covert ops cloak capable logistic ships until after I got hot dropped (a powerful ship was basically signalled to bypass a few system gates and kill me) due to me not paying attention while under "substances". I still posted the idea anyway, even though I knew it would potentially make the guy who killed me's job quite a bit easier. |

I know a lot of FPS games that are embarrassed for Dust 514 too.
And I know a lot of other MMO players that are embarrassed about playing EVE. You ever try telling one of your buddies why it is they should try eve out? only after words you find your self saying "If you don't like it's fine" cause they might BORED with it. lol |

That doesn't quite mean that none of the complaints are groundless, lets say if your enemy uses a neutral logistic helper during a war, it's actually broken since you can't attack that logi without Concord killing you. Not to mention of grid warfare link boosting from inside a POS, which are so safe multiple Titans are put in them. |

Just like joining a fleet. Reputation and trust are the only true currencies in New Eden. Good corps had this sorted a while ago and people go by your name. This whole incident probably fixed the problem enough to where it is a non issue. |

it's the only game with a "withdraw funds" button that puts money BACK into your credit card.
10 bucks of game money = 1 dollar us.
nobdoy... nobody on the planet can beat that.
and the depth of that game makes EvE look like 514 in terms of compexity.
as soon as CCP puts a "1 million ISK = 1 dollar us" and a withdraw function, then you could claim EvE is on a whole other level.
til then, it can't beat the king.
even EvE players would whine about the grind in Entropia... "too hard"
