I'm kind of interested in speccing heavy once the respec hits. However, I don't want to be stuck with the Amarr Dropsuit forever. Do you think CCP will reimburse money spent on Heavy Dropsuits once new ones come out?
If not, I'll probably just go Logi. |

don't expect a respec when new heavy suits come out. I'm a heavy, but my secondary role is Medium Amarr. You'll have 4-6 months to save SP for when the new suits come out.

Just spec into the Basic Proto suits that way when the new dropsuits hit you can spec into the racial varient you wish and when playing you still retain all the pros of a heavy suit without hitting the SP sink. |

Bam done, you now have an awesome heavy suit. Use HMG to defend areas don't go into fields, use forge guns to kill tanks : ) the rest go logi and support skills. |

Although to be honest FG needs the proficiency skill badly. That alone mean's FG operations to 5. Complex Heavy Weapon Damage mods may be a requirement with the current ground vehicle buffs.
I do not know if HMG operation has to be at 5 in this game build.
Lastly get used to crouching as it has a significant effect on heavy weapons.
PS don't expect any more respecs unless they FUBAR the skills again. |

All you need is Standard Heavy, then raise the skills which passively increase Shields and Armor permanently, and save up till the other variants come up, then finally you can make up your mind. |

I don't see a single good reason why CCP wouldn't refund racial SP when they drop new racial suits or vehicles.
If you want to stick with what you had, you just put the points straight back in. If you want to use the new races suit, you put the points there. They've proved time and time again they have the ability to do things like this with SP, so I personally see no good reason to not do this when more racial variants drops. |

I mostly agree with whats been said. Just train the basic heavy suit, dont bother specializing into amar. The only thing different i would suggest, is to spec into adv suit, not just std. This is more so for the extra cpu/pg capacity than the extra low slot. It makes it alot easier to carry higher tier HMG and FG. |

That's like saying I don't see why in EVE they didnt give everyone free respecs when they released super carriers and titans.
Meaninful choices brohem.
NOTE: For those uninitiated in the ways of CCP, this didn't/doesn't happen with our space brethren. If you want the new shiney's you need to plan ahead and bank the sp. |

If not, I'll probably just go Logi. Friend of mine recently trained Heavy to 3, and she already has Proto HMGs and Forges.
Last time I talked to her she'd just come out of a match where she went 26/3.
I'd say it's worth it. |

I didn't play too much EVE, they had certain racial supper carriers and titans and then released new ones, but didn't let EVE pilots switch to their own racial variant?
Bummer :(

Not quite the same, they released whole new classes, not fleshed out an existing one... its more like adding mechs, dont expect a respec for that
bit differnt concidering the sentinal has bonuses to a weapon that isnt even out yet |

I wish we could spec into a specific race and use all the basic frames for all variants. This way, I spec Gallente and get to use there suits without locking one roll.
Then once the new Gallente heavy or pilot suit comes out, I can go for whichever I please. |

I'd expect a respec when the other heavies come out. Again, this is fleshing out a fundamental part of the game that should of been there on launch day quite honestly. However when they add stuff like pilot suits, speeder bikes, mechs, and whathaveyou don't expect a respec even in the slightest. |

If not, I'll probably just go Logi. The answer is likely no - so enjoy Logi. Being heavy is pointless anyways when a scout with SG handles CQC better |

I'm a heavy, and have ALL my SP into it, and I don't regret any bit of it, but I know I'm the minority especially now.

+1
Then focus on modules and passive boost skills. If that is all done well before the new suits arrive then by all means; treat yourself to some proto suits. |

I've been playing for around a year and a half. Drop ships, tanks, light attack vehicles, logi, sniper, assault and now finally heavy. I've gone 30/0 or more before, but for me it's about the fun of playing. I've asked for an account reset. 12.000.000 SP gone. And when I do start again. I will probably plays as a Heavy, with a HMG, as to be honest, it's great fun, holding a position. How many times have you played a game, where once the hack is done everybody runs off to the next. Running ain't for me. |

Since I'm sure we won't be getting any more respecs after the next optional one, I am not spending any more on Amarr than I have to. Gonna focus on heavy weapons, maybe AR skills for when things turn into a longer range engagement than my HMG is good for. TAR will be nerfed, but I might look into it if CCP doesn't give it the same treatment they gave heavies (fat chance, I know). Unfortunately, if you have no interest in going Amarr, you're effectively locked out of PC. My little STD/basic suit would get me slaughtered. Maybe if someone needs a higher HP gunner or something for a DS or tank, but that's about it. |

Concentrate on core skills 1st: Shield Upgrades Armor Upgrades Dropsuit Core Upgrades
If you really wanna try the HMG you need Weaponry lvl 5 HMG Operation 1
I run in a MLT heavy suit(I'm NOT speccing into amarr) with Comp. heavy damage mod, comp. armor repper, standard HMG, standard SMG and locus grenades. (I have shield and armor upgrades lvl 5 HMG Pro. lvl 2)
I usually get about a 2 - 3 kdr in pubs/FW
Played a match today and got 28 kills 36 assists and 8 deaths. |

Hmm. Well, to be quite honest, I'm waiting for the Caldari Heavy, but it seems like it's still a ways off, and I'd rather enjoy myself while I wait, so I think I might just go Logi. When it comes out I can always just make a new character and start 'fresh' so to speak. |

Heavy is very, very defined to a role right now. If you can find a contested point and hold it heavy rocks. For everything else it sucks ass. I find heavy on Domination works well due to there only being one point the enemy has to come to you. For 5 point skirmish matches though you will sit forever and it is very boring. I actually started training gal medium and AR and SR because of the pigeon hole that CCP placed heavy in for uprising.
A few levels of HMG and FG and level 1 in the suits won't break the SP bank though so go for to diversify. I would recommend training HMG to the assault variant though because the range boost is slightly more bearable on the HMGs. |
