and i mean, MORE MAPS, not just the same maps rotated and some structures changed; i understand that maybe there are some limitations but c/mon... guessing theres already a thread somewhere asking for more maps xD |

In programming, there is a phenomena known as the "mythical man month." It's the idea that throwing more programmers at a problem doesn't really speed things up because they take so long to get up-to-speed on the code. It's like having too many cooks in the kitchen. Some problems in software development simply take time and smart people to make happen.
Maps aren't like this though. CCP can hire a couple of map designers and they can get to work on separate maps without interfering with each other, or slowing down other areas of game development such as balancing, performance tweaks, etc. This game could really use a dozen or so maps that look and feel very different. With so many assets being recycled from map-to-map, I'm really surprised we don't have more already. |

I remember when someone from CCP mentioned something about MAP GENERATORS.That every district on a planet is gona look diferent.And now we have 4-6 maps.Kind of dissapointing. |

At the dust Keynote at the 2012 fanfest they revealed that map generators weren't working because generated maps weren't fun to play on. I agree we need more maps and more variations on each one. Trees would help. And water. |

Maps are not fun now and the reason is:

CCP Dictionary
New Map: A map consisting of the same terrain in which red lines are drawn randomly and Structures, usually the same ones, are located on generally the same location. These maps are usually death traps because of their predatory corners that snag players harder than pedo bear in Disney World causing massive rage and QQ spells. |
