Whenever a game is released with broken hit detection the dev's ignore it and add more shiny stuff.

That sir is Exactly what Dice did with bf3. They said there was No inpul lag (bad hit detection) but, 4 months after release they patched the game referring to the patch as being a fix for "input lag".
Yeah it has been ignored before, but Dice did eventually try to fix it by re-writing most of the code. Do you really think CCP can afford to spend Any time re-writing the code? Hell no there is much more yellow paint for lav's to implement. |

Most games don't plan for 10 years. There's no point for them to add better hit detection because by the time they do it will already be time to start pushing the sequel out the door. You see the difference here? |

Um you do know that dust has had GREAT hit detection twice before right? IT's CCP, you have no idea. Aiming is going to be awesome and then suck and then be awesome and then get broken again, even in 4 years time.

They're working on the code right now. It takes time to change, and can't be mended by a hotfix. |
