So I'm a total noob at this game (like a lot of peeps, i think haha), anyway, so I've only been playing a couple of days and I think I may have misallocated my skill points. I didn't realize that the 200,000 they give you is a crap load.
I've mostly used them for assault rifle stuff, which is what i'm trying to do for now, but I've also spent some on Turret upgrades (probably should save that for later).
Is it like WOW where you are limited to one talent tree? Like a sniper badass, or vehicle specialist?
I haven't misspent too much yet, so I'll probably stick to this character, but I've thought about starting over, since only one character can accrue passive SPs.

If you have your passive skill points on (I know this sounds silly but I've come across several people who didn't turn on their passive skill points) you get 168,000 a week just for existing. For active skill points (ones earned in battle) you get around 190,000 a week, and you can keep track of this by the "bonus skill points remaining" section on the battle report after a match. Aside from that, there is no limit to how many you can get, only how fast you can get them.
Also if you feel you misallocated your skill points, which most new guys do, you're in luck. Go to Dust514.com, sign in, go to support and submit a ticket. Label it "Skill Respec" and say you are doing it because the upcoming skill tree change. This is a one time deal for right now only, so don't get used to the idea of respecs. |

As already mentioned, there is no max SP for the lifetime of your character. It will continue to accrue. There is, however, a cap per week (I believe it resets on Wednesdays) to make sure that people remember to go out and get some sun every now and then instead of just grind SP 24/7.
You probably have a pretty low amount of SP, all things considered. Just get a feel for the game, fitting suits, etc. By time the skill respec is available, you might know a bit better about where you want to put those points. If you have found your play by then, great. If not, put in for a respec at that time. |

Ok cool, exactly what I needed to know. So you could theoretically be a Master at everything? |

Yes you could, and once you get so far into your specialty you will want to branch out a little so you can adept to the battlefield happenings. But if you want to truely survive and make an impact it is better to stick with one thing and build it.
If you want to experience other stuff, well that is why there is three character slots. |

Maxing everything is not going to happen. The game won't be supported for the 100 years it would take.
Well, maybe in 100 years not having a maxed character would be the least of your troubles =-P.
Be well. |

7 years for the skills in Chromosome. Much more in Uprising. And as the updates keep coming, the new skill-sinks will go up and up. Just look at EvE ;) |
