When I first made this character I quit a week after because of that reason. I left for about 2 months and found 2.5 mil SP and it gave me a fighting chance. It occurs to me that not everyone is going to come back like I did. I would definitely say it is a problem. Matchmaking needs to be a serious priority for CCP if they want to keep any new players they may attract. |

That's how CCP plans to keep their small playerbase in Dust. Play our game, grind through it all, keep buying our boosters and you'll get a ton of SP. Then spam proto in pubs against already bad players and stomp them out of oblivion so you can feel like you're good, rinse and repeat, grind more SP.
I've said it since day 1, the SP system in this game doesn't belong in shooters. Terrible mechanic and it will always be pushing new players out the door. |

Personally i think they need to make twitch shooter experience actually count in this game. IMO it feels like in a 1v1 situation Gear always trumps over shooter skills.

Its not all gear related. Last weekend I created 5 or 6 new toons and every single match I was 'stomping'.
Miliia equipment, only had the enhanced dmg mods.
New players need more help with setups and skills. |

My char is less than 2 months old and I've never had a problem. 10+ KDR coming out of the academy, came down to about 2.5 once I graduated, now back up to around 3 since I started playing with squads.
Having said that, I do agree the jump from academy to full game is too big. You should be able to stay in the academy until 1 mil SP. And CCP should really stress the benefits of running with a squad to new players. |

So protos will be in Domination, and adv will be in other game modes? idk how this works. I just won't play against them or with them. I'll never be on the same SP level as they. So, let me play with my brethren of 10mil through 13. |

I think new recruits should stay in academy until 100,000 WP are achieved. Then the next level up should be 300,000 WP that way everything is balanced out. After 300,000 WP you should have a decent clone to fight the level five prototypes, as well you should know how the game works by then. |

Six matches and not one single kill! Even though I really had taken care of choosing the right skills in order to get better equipment, by the time I joined the public matches DUST just wasn't fun any longer. If my friends asked me if DUST was worth being played I had to say: Absolutely no! This has nothing to do with the game itself but with the fact that it's completely overrun by all the veterans who are now hunting the random goups. The only way to avoid that: AFKing! Seriously. With the current state of the game there is literally no other chance to compete against all those Protos than hiding or AFKing. Right now there is absolutely no point in fighting or even investing in anything else than Militia or Proto gear. Everything else in between is a complete waste of ISK. There are already three of my friends who guit after they were constantly being farmed for two days by the veterans. CCP tried to transfer the idea of personal skill being more important than equipment and skills from EVE to DUST but this just doesn't seem to work at all for a FPS shooter. Never the less, until a matchmaking system is implemented and working this game will lose a lot of new and potential players due to being one of the worst new player experiences out there so far. And until that hiding & AFKing will be king for new players. To be clear: I don't have anything against the veterans and their proto gear in person. They also can't choose their opponents. They are also restricted by the actual game mechanics. I'm against the current status quo of the game and the fact that these problems even exist after the game was launched. But unfortunately this game is very very far from being finished. this is true for noobs we veterans should strive to stick to FW and Domination we should let the noobs play Ambush, OMS and Skirmish All pub stomping does is prevent new people from enjoying this game. I love this game and the more people play this game the more successful this game can become so if you truly like this game and want it to be here ten years from now running on playstation 5 so stop pub stomping and for the record I am not a noob

proto items are over rated, all other gear is under rated,
Takes no extra skill at FPS games to drop a proto suit with Milita gear, just shoot them,. /shrug
A milita shot gun has no bias, it drops all suits.
people twink in this game, Yep I said it. Its not the same as staying low level, but backing up standard gear with max skills is a twink in dust .
ya cant really fix pubstomping, they just need to make the maps better.

As a noob who might as well be running all MLT gear, I can say that when I see 5+ people from the same corp on the other side, it's the not the proto gear I'm scared of - it is their tactics, organisation and knowledge of maps and weapons. I learned after a week that the guy in the that proto assault who just killed me with a duvolle AR, is not necessarily a good player - they still run into grenades, leave there flanks open and stare down their scope when someone is unloading an smg on their backs.
What I Learnt when I got out of academy was you need a corp to survive, not necessarily better gear than enemy. |

Pub stomping is amusing because rolling around with a squad in top gear is only "skillful" if it's against another team doing the same thing.

Oh, are you talking about the re-release of "One and Only"? I still don't consider that a "new game mode", it is simply the 1 objective version of Skirmish. It shouldn't even be a separate category in the Battle Finder, it should just be in the Skirmish shuffle. |
