AV nades if maps favor LAV murder taxis) ~ 505 Shield, ~ 670 armor Cost ~ 20k ISK First and foremost, consider using an assault variant of your HMG. The advanced is the MO-4 Assault HMG. Good weapon, has 10m longer range than the MH-82 with lower damage. Alternatively, have you tried the burst HMGs? In the right hands they can be deadly.. very tricky to use in close quarters, but wonderful on stationary targets medium range. Using Flux grenades are helpful if you are having trouble killing enemies 1v1. I am not saying dont use them, I just prefer getting triple kills with my locus :) Regarding your fitting quoted above: I would suggest dropping the Enhanced Damage Mod for an Enhanced Shild Extender, that will put you at 500 Shield. Consider dropping down to 2x Enhanced Armor Plates to free up CPU and PG, and upgrading to advanced grenades. More damage, larger blast radius. If you find yourself switching to your sidearm alot, upgrade to the Assault SMG. Or tryout Flaylocks.. they are not for everyone, but a very good weapon for finishing off an injured opponent.. or when you are up close being jump/strafed shoot their feet and watch those scouts explode. They also work wonders from an elevated position, surprisingly good at med range combat. And just for reference here is an example of one of my Proto suit layouts... Amarr Basic Proto Heavy Dropsuit 1x Comp Damage Mod 1x Enh Shield Extender 2x Enh Armor Plates 1x Enh Shield Regulator GN-13 Flaylock Pistol Gastuns MN-7 HMG or Gastun's BRN-50 Forge Gun (with Forge I run 2x Comp Damage Mods) M1 Locus Grenade or Hacked EX AV Grenade
