I just got this today and noticed that you get 50 copies of the Assault C-I dropsuit...
Which is odd because you also get a BPO copy of the SAME dropsuit stat-wise that doesn't require any skills to use! I didn't check if there were any different colors but...this makes no sense. Why would I use the blueprint copies when I have a blueprint original that I don't have to spend 2 million sp on? lol
As a side note, there's no point in me using the other consumable dropsuits either because that would require 5 million sp into the Caldari Assault suits for the prototype version >.> Guess I'll just wait until I can sell those then. ____________________

Dren Assault C-I dropsuit (BPO that requires no skills to use) 50x Assault C-I dropsuit (BPC that requires 2 million sp to use)
If there was a change to be made with the elite pack I'd say change these consumables to nanohives, or grenades or something that ALMOST EVERYONE can use without spending a ton of skill points into one of the 11 specific types of suits we now have available to us.
I understand that there are a lot of people who play caldari assault, and the advanced and proto versions are very much useful to them, but the real issue is why there are bpc standard suits in there of the same type as the bpo. |

The ones that require skills (the BPCs) will also benefit from the related passives in that skill. So, if you had maxed Caldari assault, wearing one those 50 copies of the C-1 will get you the reload and shield recharge bonus from the racial suit you've leveled up. On the other hand, the BPO will never give you any racial-suit related passives, it's just free. |

The BPO states it is a racial variant of a specific role. The stats even reflect the Assault variant of the medium Caldari dropsuit.
Dren Assault "C-I" refers to the fact that it is a Caldari Assault...correct? So surely it would get the same bonuses as the BPC's? |

Nope. That's the price of it not requiring the skills. If it requires the skills, you get the passives. If it's a no-requirement item, then you get no variant related bonuses. Contrast this with the Raven suit BPO. It's also a BPO, but requires Caldari Medium V and Caldari Assault I. You get bonuses when you wear that one. |

Thank you for the explaination. +1's all around. I will test this will the Dren Logistics M-I as I have Minmatar Logistics level 5 (I should not see a +5 armor repair on the suit if it doesn't get the bonuses)
Either way, these suits are a great way of testing out the different roles without spending 2 million sp to use a basic logi/scout/sentinel. |

Just tested it and your solution was not correct.
These suits still receive bonuses like the rest of the racial variant standard dropsuits as my Dren Logistics M-I has the extra 5hp/s that the Minmatar logistics receive. It also got the hacking bonus.
So as it stands, the 50 Assault C-I still have no use in this merc pack. |

... Are you sure? I haven't tried them personally, but I was just going off information on the suit stats.
Here... someone tells me that the skills don't work (I'm asking that exact question)
And here someone else confirms it. If it works for you.. I don't know?

I'll post a screenshot sometime soon to show you guys what I mean.
It works for the Logistics suit, but I have no way of telling if it works on the others. |

Ok... I can't speak to the Dren items, but I just checked this out:
The Covenant Assault suit (A Caldari Standard Assault suit in the Vet pack) is statistically identical to a Caldari Assault C-1 suit (whichever the std model is). However, it has no skill requirements.
I just checked, and it DOES get the shield recharge bonus from the Caldari Assault skill. If the Dren suits are the same... well...
So, yeah. I won't say that's bugged. I guess it's really nice if you bought the suits actually?
But it does make an extra 50 assault suits... uh... redundant. |
