the worst thing an fps can have is a flavor of the month that lasts and entire patch cycle, talk about yawnsville. i'm looking at you Tac ARs
to wit; with ccp's nifty little rapid updating thing which can change prices and stats of weapons or armor in an itsy bitsy 1mb patch, why not do that rapidly?
more importantly, keep it stickied as the "weekly balance thread" or something, where people comment on (read; complain about) the most recent update and suggest things for the next week's update.
for the first one, i think i good nerf on the tac AR's damage would be nice, as well as capping its maximum firing rate at about half it is right now. still great as a long range weapon, but not good in close quarters and not that powerful. also, buff to the scrambler rifle's heat dispersion and giving it higher shield damage. it'll act as a great hard counter to the now INCREDIBLY popular shield tanking for every suit imaginable. |

Logistic suits should be regulated to defensive weapons i.e. sidearms. HMG is still way too short range for what it is. Scrambler rifles should match the TAR in range with different optimals. Mass drivers need a minimum travel distance before the rounds become explosive, say 25 meters. All single fire weapons should have an overheat, unless it is a pure 21st century projectile weapon, so minmatar guns. Headshots should not provide more damage as I am thinking that the same armor that is on your body is on your head. The 10% damage boost should be rescinded. All +/- damage modifiers should be boosted to 130%/60%. All sidearms need a slight range boost. Missile tracking/accuracy needs fixed. Armor needs a different negative than speed reduction.
More as I think of them.

Tac ar is problematic, sure. Overpowered? I believe so. But the problem with shield tanking is that armor tanking (armor in generable) isn't viable. Dust seems to have the "rock, paper, scissors" thing going on but only a quarter of the stuff we need is in.
Missing so many racial varients it's not even funny, they talked about a lot of different armor mods that will probably not show up for another year, weapons are bland and lack variety in effect & functionality....the list goes on.
That's also part of the reason tac ar is popular. Good zoom on top of being poorly balanced. We need the rest of the races weapons and a weapon balance team that isn't incompetent. Would've been fine by me if scram rifle was op; gallente firearms are just boring nowadays. Change in pace would've been great.

God I want to get my hands on Caldari gear..... What about dropsuit armor tanking isn't viable? The speed reduction is well worth it and you get more defense then other suits except for the caldari logi. Plus anyone who thinks logis should only have a sidearm is plain stupid. |

except armor doesn't come back if you're trying to go for more of it. shields regen pretty damn fast on their own. and in an FPS being able to go from one battle to the next, being at totally full for each engagement, is critical.
if armor reppers were high slots and repaired more armor it might be worthwhile, since they would still repair slow but ALSO have lots of buffer and of course the racial suits would give bonuses to the appropriate stuff

Though the logi suits only get up to 5 hp/s regen without mods, it is still doable. Not having to worry about flux grenades and SRs is A very nice thing. |

I agree with everything this guy said now.
*For anyone wondering why I crossed out and amended stuff: Everyone by now should know my stance on the "Logi Gate" now non-issue, MD has already been nerfed to the ground to the point that heavies feel sorry for it, not sure what the deal is with single fire weapons unless it's the scrambler pistol, I think headshots are fine as is since snipers are forced to snipe instead of head glitching in the mountains, and the AR is the only weapon that needs the 10% recinded because it still has a higher DPS out of all the DoT light weapons, sidearms, and the HMG. |

I wish there was a downvote option on this forum Why donvote when you can hunt him down and pelt him with grenade rounds. Part of the reason why I use my MD is because it's not an AR and it pisses AR users off to no end. They can nerf the thing down to requiring a direct hit, 1 shot in the clip and a 5 minute reload time and I'll still use it because it's not an AR.

That's what it comes down to. If you're using armor you either need to also slot an armor rep mod or have a smart logi hump your backside all match. A single armor mod has a downside whereas shield mods don't and naturally recover quickly. See the problem? |

Wow... we gotta nerf headshots now too? Why even have heads? There's nothing important in there right?

this guy's got it. shields are just TOO good. and ironically it makes logis not very useful since they aren't really needed.
i think CCP has this obsession with making logis really critical, when even if armor repaired faster and gave a good bit of buffer they would STILL be useful, but for active armor buffering during a push

Mass drivers are ridiculously OP, and when you rush someone using one they should not be able to shoot at their feet to kill you. It is an automatic grenade launcher, there should be a minimum stand-off distance for the user i.e. a distance that the round has to travel before it becomes explosive. Inside of that distance it would just be a giant bullet so you would need to hit the person with the round to kill them. |

LOL - if you want that then let the rounds have 6-8 m blast area and no dramatic fall off splash damage |
