Other than the simply feedback of get better, what do people suggest for fighting these 'proto-suits'? Due to the really lame training grounds to normal game cap I got put in with guys that have much better equipment than I have. I went from having a good k/d in training ground to now going completely the other way. I honestly just cannot kill these guys. Suggestions, or if there are fixes coming to make the newb experience better that would be great. |

Right, so the problem is with 600k sp against 12m sp I have almost no chance against these guys. Obviously this makes winning hard, which in turn makes gaining sp hard..... so the newb experience sucks because this becomings MMO grinding. Not an FPS. |

I understand that it is MMOish. The whole leveling system attracted me in the first place. It was a different take on FPS games, which I thought would be refreshing. I just didn't expect it to be so much grinding. Besides, it seems counter intuitive to try to attract FPS players and then necessitate excessive amounts of grinding against overwhelming odds. Perhaps they will fix this with better match making capabilities so you don't go against overpowered players on normal games. For instance, in most MMOs they don't pair a lvl 10 against a lvl 40, so why here? They could introduce the typically FPS leveling system that is based on usage of items. That would at least make getting slaughter bearable because you would still gain adequate skill points. Rant over. |

I agree with everything you said. I do way better in a squad, but still 1 vs 1 can get frustrating. From an MMO PVP stand point and from an FPS stand point this game is a little off. It seems like CCP needs to figure out if this game is an FPS/MMO or MMO/FPS. I think they'd do better if it was the former. It is possible to combine the two and there are some great mechanics present here, but it is not tailored to an FPS audience, hence your friends don't want to play it.
I came from playing games like battlefield 3 and loved the assault/medic, but it is not as viable or versatile here. Plus, picking the scrambler rifle...not a good choice, cause it is not good right now. So much potential for this game..... |
