I have this problem also. Assault suits getting stuck at the tops of stairs and little rocks. The ability to scale inclines is much improved and I haven't fallen through the bottom of the map this week. Thanks. |

This is a common problem and has resulted in mass death. Many times I have noticed that you can jump over invisible obstacles while other times the map grabs you and holds you. |

Thank you very much for these reports. This is a known issue, and the QA department and I are attempting to find and fix the areas where players are getting caught, so any descriptions of areas where it might be happening are very helpful. |

The response is appreciated. I believe this issue is one of the primary things affecting the new player experience, the veteran frustration level, and the reviews DUST is receiving out in the big wide world.
To clarify for the dev team, this happens a lot.
Sticking at the top of stairs is one thing, but the 20-50 little sticking incidents a merc will experience and wrestle their way out of in the course of a single match is the real problem.
If your approach is to fix these on a point-by-point basis you're in trouble. You might get the most common points in well-traveled areas but you'll never catch all the points out in the hills.
I respectfully submit that you need to look at the cause of the problem, not hand patch the symptoms created by it. What are you going to do when the full number of maps is out? Devote hundreds of thousands of dev-hours to finding and fixing sticky spots? |

Not to argue with the idea of giving specific location reports, but these 'sticky' or 'invisible wall' issues do not seem to be limited to just a few specific areas.
Almost any 'smooth' surface in the new build- be it boxes, base walls, building walls, shipping containers or even low rise hills- have a tendency to drag against you. Sliding along any wall is asking to get hung up.
This change in the 'smoothness' of surfaces is actually, consciously or not, changing the way people move around the battle field. You see people grouped up 3 ft from a wall instead of up against it.
This seems like something that, though is can be addressed one spot at a time I'm sure, would best be addressed through a programatic process that could make a pass on all surfaces. |

This. It seems it is less about the geography and more about the movement code. Can't explain the stairs, but one thing I've noticed about walls/crates/boxes/etc.: it seems almost like any motion towards the wall gets you stuck. I can move away from an object easily if I get stuck, but trying to slide along ends in jeep squishing, or being shot. It kind of feels like if the computer registers any movement in an axis that is directly towards a barrier, it negates your movement entirely, instead of just the segment of your vector that should be blocked. I am unsure if I explained that well enough. I will actually conciously test it when I get home from work. |
