I'm a designated marksman, not a CQC specialist. I cover my squad at medium range just behind my squad-mates. My job is to make sure they make it from point A to point B with as little enemy resistance as possible. My deaths happen when an enemy runs straight past my squadmates who literally don't shoot a single bullet at him as I'm left defenseless with a scrabler pistol. No, it's not my fault.

I Remember getting by heavy fire as a squad raided the objective. They had brought in a tank, and having been told as little boys by their parents to "ignore the bullies, and they will go away" and that excatly what they did. except the tank didn't go away. Well after seeing that I wanted to spawn into my anti HAV suit. but i couldn't because that medic kept reviving me! I wanted to scream at him to "stop! can't you see I keep dying!? is was terrible.. it's like people lost their damn sense. One assualt after I think ran his ammo dry, tried melee the tank! melee! like if some how his mmorpg gods had granted him the masamune! That's when I knew, that I wasn't in dust no more. this was the twilight zone. So I did what I had to do. I suicide. popped up in mcc and chilled.

Like I said, charlie chaplin speeches don't work on a videogame.

Ive seen them take off in them. ZOOMING towards objectives. The new heroes.. for 2 seconds before they flip the lav, and have to walk. I've seen things boys and girls.. that will make your eyes bleed. And then one day one guy who was 0/11. sent me a mail, while game was still going. "THIS GAME IS AWESOME! WANT TO JOIN MY CORP?" I teared. yes I think I teared. it ok. its all behind us. people are smart now I know. I know.

Don't get me wrong, not against corps, just haven't found the right one. Been cursed at for not being "hardcore"... I'm a casual player here for fun. Other corps, I just never seen them online, or would all rarely squad up, and when they did it was just everyone for themselves. I can do that on my own. I certainly am not a force to be reckoned with on the field, but I do my best to learn new tactics. Just running around shooting anything that moves is boring, exclude ambush, so I do my own objectives. I have now focused on damage done vs damage received rather than kills vs deaths. I'm making decent isk and sp and having fun. I probably still squad up min 50% of time, and have played with cool people, and a lot... well, you know. C'est la vie.

I sometimes run a Scout with a Shotgun and a Repair tool, and spend all my time with the Repair Tool out, only switching to Shotgun when it looks like someone's close enough for it to be useful. Heavies and Logis and teamwork all over!

Its great to squad up with some of the Dead Sixers and know that they'd take a bullet for me.....no kidding If I see a buddy hacking an objective and being sniped at Ill stand infront of him while he hacks and take the bullets.

Seventy-Nine. There are ways you can train public match players. When you are in the Lobby or In-game, hit Select and then Team. You have to -manually- join a squad (or start your own). Seeing a few Green blips does make people start to group together and help each other. Follow your team around. Let them know that there are actually smart players in pub matches. This is a trainable opportunity. I started throwing down Drop nodes around in secret places and we really started working together. Other non Squad players starting following the 'guys that knew what they were doing'. Voice coms online by default in Squad. Start using callouts. It's all trainable. People will follow a leader.
