Keys everyone that starts a career in vehicles will be given a key with a random 4 digit key number when u first put points into driving or flying. You will have that number through out your career u do not get different keys every time u buy a vehicle they would be blank until u call them down then they would be assigned your personal key en route.
If u choose drop ship you would get a pilots license key same with lav and hav they would all be different. Your key is unique to you and will stay with u as u go from std to proto and even specialize they would just upgrade to allow u to use the next level of vehicle when u reach it but still allow u to drive a lower grade if need be.
But what if jim bob has the same skills as you or mister noob decides he wants to play and tries to hop in your tank.drop ship or lav and hot rod around in it. Well they would default to a gun or in case of a drop ship or lav a random gun or seat because his key is different from yours.
Now your probably thinking what if i hack someones vehicle. Well during the hacking process you would bypass the key allowing anyone to drive it regardless of level.
What do u guys think. |

No. Vehicle theft is part of the New Eden experience. If you snooze, you lose. My corp just stole an Orca in EVE that had been left unattended by the pilot who was mining in a Skiff right next to it. We just jumped in and flew away. If you have to hack it now in order to steal it, then it is already harder than it is in EVE, which makes sense given the chaotic nature of a battlefield, but it makes having keys or licenses incredibly redundant if people can still just hack it regardless of level. |

Waste of time. Just lock the vehicle by pressing square. Problem solved.
If only ccp would implement this.

There is no such thing as keys to a tank. I also highly doubt with New Eden technology that keys, which can be stolen and looted from your dead corpse, would be the technology of choice for getting access to a vehicle of any kind. |

Call it when not 20 blue are right next to it, then get in. Maybe a lock feature for the first "jump in" allowing only the owner to go in. |

I can agree with this to a degree. For initial deployment, only the owner, the person who paid for the vehicle, should be allowed to access the driver's seat. As soon as he vacates that seat however, it should be open season. |

It wouldn't be better if CCP program the game to unlock the driver seat only for the owner? And when a teammate try to use your vehicle it can only use the machine gun or the passenger seat but not the driver seat. |

It is so annoying when you get bluedots in your vehicals that wont get out because you know as soon as you get out they are gonna get in the driving seat and crash it for you or some other stupidity.
Example today I flew a dropship onto a building with some blueberries in most got out when I landed apart from one sat in a turret, the turret was facing away from the enemy and he just sat there shooting at the roof of the building we were on so I couldn't recall my DS it got shot at I tried recalling it and he just there constantly firing so I get back in and flew away a bit to repair it all the time blueberry was just firing wildly at nothing. I even parked it with the turret facing a wall and he just kept shooting. I tried flying over the redline hoping he would panicbail and nothing just sat in the turret. In the end I flew back to our spawn point and just left it there with him in and he just sat there in the turret shooting at the redline for the remaining 2-3minutes of the match.
Still unsure if he was trolling or it was his first time in a DS and overly excited. |

As soon as he vacates that seat however, it should be open season. They already do this.
Not sure if they fixed it to work right this build, but I know in the last build, the lock timer was set based on when you requested the vehicle, though, and it should be based on when it lands.
As of Chromosome, when I last had the chance to test this: There's a 15 second delay (plus queue time) before your vehicle is expected to arrive. There's about a 3 second delivery process. When you initiate the delivery request, a 20 second lock timer starts, during which nobody else can enter your vehicle.
If no other vehicles are on their way, you get your tank/LAV/whatever dropped off, and you can jump in first because there's about a 2 second window before anyone else is allowed to jump in. If there's another vehicle on the way, your delivery has to wait a moment, resulting in the lockout timer expiring before arrival.
As I said, not sure if this has been addressed for Uprising, but it was a problem before. Point being, game mechanics are already in place to prevent theft. If they have been fixed, or can be fixed soon, problem solved. |

oh im sorry didnt read last post it is apparently a good idea cuz its already in the game haha |
