I have several Brazilian friends that can-¦t download Dust 514 because it-¦s not available for them, even today at release.
Also, the Collector Edition may not be shipped there, and there are a lot of people wanting to buy it.
Are there any plans to make them available? A free game like Dust would sure attract a swarm of latin players.
Creating an US account is not a proper option, for Sony doesn-¦t accept international credit cards, and stores like Best Buy aren-¦t selling online codes sent via e-mail anymore, so they can-¦t buy anything for the game.
Brazil and Free games = Swarm of people joining, and we could use more numbers.

Hello
Translating an entire video game to a language that also has a different dialect compared to portugal would most likely be difficult.
Also this is google translate not me since my written Brazilian Portuguese is pretty bad, spoken though its pretty good.
Thanks.

However, I do fully support that CCP look into making the game available to those in Brazil, an emerging economy, though if the market data doesn't suggest that there is a large consumer base from Brazil, the ROI would not be that enticing for CCP to spend the money, manpower and time to make the game available there. |

It-¦s a valid point the question of translation, however, i ask:
European players have several languages: English, Portuguese (Portugual), Spanish, German, just to say a few.
Is the game translated in all those languages, or is the standart English version for all the different european countries?
Portugal speaks portuguese, is in europe, and (i think) is available for download, isn-¦t it? |

The language translation is not that hard to overcome, but then you're getting into the infrastructure of Europe vs that of say Brazil.
In Europe there is far less poverty and more readily available access to the PS3 and other similar technology at a decent price. Yes you have Brazilian friends, but I'm sure they would admit not everyone in Brazil would be at all capable of buying a PS3 or even speaking a few lines of English if the game was only in English.
Most European nations, in some capacity, have a stronger invested interest in learning English, due to proxy and a majority of corporations in the world doing their business in English. Brazil, sadly, does not have such a luxury with as robust of an urbanization as that of Central & Western Europe (namely the countries you mentioned).
If the game is released to Brazil then it would make more sense that it uses Portuguese (portugal) as there are only slight dialect differences (example: UK English & USA English), however as previously stated it may not be a market worth investing in as there may not be much on CCP's ROI due to a variety of reasons, some of which I did not touch on.
Cliff Notes: Lot's of different variables would cause the delay. |

If they say "It-¦s not a market that we-¦re interested right now", i-¦ll understand.
But Microsoft is gong to produce Xbox there, Sony is going to produce PS3 there, Blizzard opened an office in S+úo Paulo and is doing portuguese versions of their games, and it appears that "The country is currently the world's fourth largest games consumer, only losing to Mexico and US in America."
At least they could take a little look in case they haven-¦t already. If they did and are not itnerested, then that-¦s it, it happens. |

I totally agree, its an emerging market, but in case you didn't notice CCP isn't exactly a huge gaming company akin to BlizzardActivision.
I'm pretty sure the marketing, sales and other relevant teams within CCP have taken a look and have pitched its value and made their decision based off research and not "Meh, we don't wanna" like some may think is how game companies make decisions. |

Sony is the one responsible for the criteria of what games go where at their store. Pehaps it-¦s not in CCP-¦s hand to decide this.
I-¦m not saying "open an office there" or "translate it to portuguese", i-¦m just asking if Latin America is in the plans or not, otherwise, the people that i invite will have to create accounts that they can-¦t buy anything from CCP due to technical reasons. |

Although the poverty in Brasil is crippling, there is a LARGE population of PS3 players (mostly because the PS3 is a one time cost).
Most of the citizens in Brasil are moving from rural to urban locations. In these urban areas, several workers typically live together to cut down costs. This includes the internet as it is usually two weeks of their paychecks, but split 3-4 different ways makes it easier.
I made a post about this around the second week I started playing, and it is terrible that Latin America still does not have a F2P game. This will easily add another 1000+ players throughout the day and is in the community's best interest to make this a priority. |

this is how the game will shrink and get laggier. ccp cant fix the lag in matches between people in different continents. they need to find a way to do this first (if it's possible) if they have any hope of expanding.

I know Sony kind of hates Latin america , because we never get anything that is just for us if we ever get anything at all.
But just to answer some points:
A) the game does translate very well, i have my PS3 on Spanish and the translation is quite good, very little things are off.
B) i do agree WE ARE A HUGE market, but as a lot of us don-¦t even have our own PS store it defeats the purpose. We mainly play with fake US accounts.
C) CCP needs to address this huge market, that almost everyone else overlooks. |

I am brazilian as well, I play EVE for several years now and was a Beta tester.
PS3 is a very common platform here.
The country has social issues mainly disparities between more and less developed regions.
But make no mistake, theres a huge ammount of people that have the console, the country isnt as poor as it seems from outside or what appear on the news worldwide.
Despite its huge disparities between the rich and poor, talking about population city wise its pretty much like any country.

CCP is pretty good at addressing lag, at least in EVE. Though that's comparing PC to Console setups, as well as this game is essentially piggybacking off the SOE servers to redirect to the Tranquility server. |

I am playing from Brazil and having trouble to connect to matches, i get black screen, and booted back to M.Q. have been playing since closed beta and never had a problem with that.
Today i opend a ticket about it, and the GM Vegas told me to clear my saved data which did nothing, trying now to reinstall the client, (takes forever) but i am sure it will do nothing as well. two other firends of me are having the same issues. Also GM Vegas told me that is nothing CCP could do to help as Brazil is not coverd by DUST 514, that does not make any sence at all, i am not asking for a portugueese client, or low ping, or no lag on PC matches, all i am asking is that the connection to public matches are restore.
I have bought at least 6 merc pacs and think that any DUST 514 costumer should be treated the same.
