LAVs with HP close to militia HAVs? COME ON.
If someone specs hard in LAVs and makes a formidable one? FINE. But making stock LAVs that eat 3 packed AVs? NO WAY.
Haha yeah that does not happen, and if they add items to it then it can go up in cost very fast. |

Its actually two but the effect is still the same. You get one off before getting run over.
Free lavs should explode after 1 Av grenade and the player should be charged isk for everytime they request one. |

Shield based basic LAVs take 2 hacked exo to take down since they get buffered by the shields.
By the time you've thrown your second one either they've run you over or they've sped away with their module repping itself.
The only clear time I get to take out an lav is when the driver spins out of control or hits an obstacle completely immobilizing it.
I really believe the real issue here is that the free ones are being abused since they can survive an av grenade/forge shot now.
There's no issue against those that required skill points invested such as the logi LAVs |

I'm sick of people defending a lame, easily overused mechanic just because it's there. As if it is written in stone. If CCP added fluffy bunny guns fanboys would defend it despite taking away from the main idea of the game.
LAV wars would be great for a separate game. Maybe a title to compete with Grand Theft Auto. They could add hookers and druggies to kill too just because the kiddies think it's funny.
Where's my combat shooter CCP? Oh yeah, it's headed for the virtual back shelf of Game Stop because only the F2P temp crowd kicks around with it anymore as a curiosity at frat parties.
Again, CCP. You catered to the wrong crowd with this game. Bring it home to the PC EVE crowd where it belongs. |

Entry and exit time of vehicles
Scout: .5 seconds Assault: 1 second Logi: 2 seconds Heavy: 3 seconds
Or perhaps their can be an algorithm that draws a correlation between movement speed of the dropsuit the player is wearing and the time it takes to enter/exit a vehicle.
I believe slowing down how fast a player can enter or exit a vehicle will reduce murder taxing in general. I like the armor buff to keep them alive for longer periods of time to use as intended and feel the time delay will reduce the undesirable murder taxi.

Unless the player has actually skilled into vehicles and modded their Onikuma - Impact, one AV Grenade will usually be enough to kill them.
A basic, un-upgraded Shield LAV will be one-shotted. If they have the right upgrades, they might be able to survive the first, but the Onikuma can't be fitted to survive a second. It's a rare LAV that can take 3 AV Grenades, even when shield-tanked.
Swarms do just fine for me.
As a side-note, I'm surprised how many people underestimate the effectiveness of a Shotgun as an anti-LAV weapon. And unlike conventional AV weapons, Shotguns let you remove the driver and keep the LAV for yourself. |

I am an AV dude. I laughed about the complaints until I logged in yesterday.
I have yet to take down *any* LAV without at least THREE EX-0 advanced AV nades or two swarms unless they are already damaged. It is highly improbable that everyone skilled up their LAVs overnight. The HP buff for militia LAVs has reinstated the Demolition Derby we had when open beta launched before peeps countered with AV nades.
Heavies that do the Murder Taxi typically do it right. They skill and fit properly or time their exits right. This is good gameplay. Scrubs running over people non-stop in BPO militia LAVs because they can't be countered without a coordinated AV squad designed to manage tanks is silly.

The HP buff is fine, but let's be honest, there's really no point to having turrets on them, is there? Maybe just a big cowcatcher on the front would suffice.
I think the solution lies in tweeking the collision damage so it's not such an easy kill making the turret a more viable weapon option than just running people over solo. I know, It's a truck, blah blah blah, but we're in suits supposedly designed to withstand the tremendous force and heat of our weapons, but a golf cart buzzing around a 30mph instantly kills us?
Also, I would like the ability to knock them over with a melee punch to the side door from a heavy suit. I would find it personally amusing to go around LAV tipping. |

Or any AV at all! I love seeing teams drop LAVs in, because I have a decent AV build that will kill most LAVs in 1-2 hits at a distance, and it didn't take much SP or ISK. I also love blasting infantry with my forge gun X-D.

its all about style of kill. i use them as well when i get bored. Just AV up or not, focus on the other parts of the game. Once you lose sight of your mission you run into me the Heavy with an HMG an the know how to use one. If you been killed by me you will remember me. |

Iron Wolf Saber wrote:Anyone tried using breach forge guns against these things? Even the higher end standards with some levels of Proficiency will do just fine on the free LAVs. Lowest end Assault Forges without a damage mod can require two hits, yesterday during a Domonation match I first forge shot a LAV and finished it with my Toxin Submachingun. Didn't even take the whole clip.
One reason I trained Forge Gun Operation to 5 was to keep up with the new faster LAVs, another was they will easily street pizza you if the charge to fire time is above two seconds.
I'm thinking of going damage mods to keep up. |

MLT LAV take 2 packed av nades. I am curious if CCP intended for these things to be used to run players over... I would hope not. I suggest severely reducing the damage done when hit by an LAV. |

Dusters Blog wrote:We like the way Dust 514 refuses to support cheap gameplay. Beginning snipers, for example, are support players. Any discussion about snipers in Dust will be filled with tears by snipers used to 'easy' mechanics for the lack of one shot kills and the scope sway in this title.
Well, 1 shot kills should depend on 2 things, headshots and suits (for example, nothings going to 1 shot a heavy, but headshots will still be significant against them), if you're able to score headshots on meds that aren't kitted out to be super tanky with the sniper then you should be 1 shotting them.
As for sway, there's FAR to much of it, the only time I've seen someone shooting a gun sway that much even while trying to aim while standing aside from a little kid shooting something that's bigger then he is. Obviously you don't like snipers, but the whole "HUR HUR U JUST WANT EZMODE" because they complain about their aim being impeded by needlessly and extremely unrealistic arbitrary mechanics that have been finding their way into shooters because someone on the dev team has a hardon hatred for being sniped.
I'd recommend they simply reduce sway by about 80% while crouched, as a mobility penalty for shooting accurately.
