Amarr Assault suits are walking tanks. They can solo many of the other dropsuits on the field. If a group of Amarr suits group up, the results are deadly. Minmatar have speed on their side. They would best be suited for hit and run tactics, and staying in groups would also provide a good benefit. Gallente are mainly armor tankers. They work best in groups and, due to their reduction to PG/CPU on hybrid weapons, can fit the best modules with the best weapons and the best equipment while still having room. Caldari are obvious shield tankers. One flux grenade and most Caldari suits are screwed. That being said, shields are a bit harder to take down than armor, so I would recommend staying at distance.
Now this is my opinion. The Amarr suits are a little OP. Starting off with over 200 Base shields and armor if you have your skill up? Also that scrambler rifle seems to be the new go to weapon. I don't think its OP, but I don't see where its supposed to be specialized in. It works in ALL occasions. Since Amarr suits get a bonus to Laser heat dissipation (Yes the Scrambler rifle is a laser weapon) The scrambler rifle on an Amarr suit would be quite a formidable opponent. I know my AR cant stand up 1v1 to a scrambler rifle, provided the opponent can aim.
I run Gallente suits at the moment and I have 355 armor and a 10hp/s armor rep with only Enhanced armor repairers. If I had a Gallente Assault gk.0 I could get 20hp/s, a duvolle, 355 armor, over 300 shields, and a nano. So Gallente aren't completely useless. I don't run Minmatar or Caldari so I cant speak to them. |

I recommend 2 basic plates and a complex armour repper. Or a enhanced armour plate with 2 reppers of your choice. |

Balanced slots, balanced and high armour and shields, and a built-in armour repairer with a buff to any addiitonal repairers you equip. I said assault, not logistics. I have tried going logi but I end up chasing people trying to repair them and getting gunned down because I have no decent CQ sidearm... I know. Amarr Logi gets a Sidearm slot. It can operate effectively as an Assault suit. More effectively than Assault suits in some ways. Just because you have a Logi suit, doesn't mean you have to fit it for healing. Load up on Nanohives. Refer to my reply above this post as to why I am not spending 500,000 SP just to get a logi with sidearms... Logistics are meant for supporting others, I would rather go around killing people. Now get back on topic, which is the best assault dropsuit? I am NOT talking about logistics, so quit mentioning it.
You are either a troll or ignorant. The name of the suit does not determine what it is best at. The bonuses and slot layout of the "Logistics Suit" are all better than those of the "Assault Suit" for the role of playing assault. Join the yellow jacket club. |

Minmatar. With a basic catalyzer I have more sprint speed than a Gallente scout. I get an extra round in my Flaylock. I get several extra rounds in my scrambler pistol. My SMG has 100 rounds. I can tank shields with my 5 high slots and have a passive 1 HP/s armor repair rate without equipping anything. I am everything a scout should be, but with much more health.
On the down side, I have very limited CPU, so I gotta be careful how I fit things. It's all hit and run in my line of work, gotta skirt the edges and make sure that I know when it's time to get gone. |
