is because they like this game. Stop calling them whiners and crybabies. We all really, really like this game, and we want it to be good. If we got and it was a piece of **** we would just stop playing it, not go on the forums and talk about what we would change. So stop getting angry at people with comments, concerns, and suggestions, because at the end of the day we all just want to see Dust do as well as possible, and if that means being a little frank in our criticisms, then so be it. |

The opposite is also true. This is a not-so-subtle form of espionage, albeit legal. IGN and Gamestop have been accused of hyping games before they were released, of being paid reviewers for godawful games. It's rife in the gaming industry, and doesn't need to be done by a gaming website, it can be done for very little expenses, considering that making an account on any gaming website is free, and commenting is also free, meaning you can discourage any new players coming to the game for very little expense, and little to no risk of being caught.
Ridiculous. The people on the opposite side of the fence from you are the people saying CCP is going on metacritic and writing fake positive reviews. |

So most of the people commenting about how I am wrong are using trolls as examples. What you have to understand is that my argument is regarding criticisms, not trolling. Just above trolling are legitimate complaints that are not articulated well (i.g. with profanity), but even in that form valid complaints shouldn't go un noted just because the speaker is a mongoloid.
What I am seeing far to often is people with legitimate, well thought out, well articulated criticisms getting yelled at and called trolls and whiners because...well....I dont know why. |

Yeah but you remind me of the casuals who stepped into the Souls franchise when Dark Souls came out who did nothing but complain the game was too hard for them or they didnt want to bother learning the necessary play styles needed not to get beaten in PvP. The game is good and I know that most people like it but we dont need to have all of this negativoty on the forums...sometimes we just need to accept that this is how its going to be for some time before things get better. After playing CCP's games for a while now I know that they will only get better.
But those arguments are against the core mechanics of the Dark souls, or what makes it what it is. Arguments against balance or clumsy controls are completely different.
And further more how can CCP know what to fix and for what reason if everyone just stays quite? |

I know and this isnt a good argument I'll admit but it just feels so similar. I respect those who give constructive feed back, threads that actually discuss mechanics and suggest ways to re balance things. I dont like seeing people complain and demand re balances. Big difference being that one is a polite and typically well fleshed out and organised thread....the other is full of trolls and complainers with no suggestions capitalising on anothers thread.
But my original post was wholly referring to people who criticize and comment out of a love of the game, and a desire to see it get better and grow.
Why would I defend trolls? |
