I have a credit card that allows my to buy things direct from the us and from amazon etc and its always cheaper so that doesn't explain why a digital copy of something should be more expensive. Some one is making alot of money out of this

I bet it has something to do with the exclusive ps3 arrangement that dust has. There is probably a clause that sony has that says 'we can charge each country what ever we want for extras and you can't do **** about it'

Why? Well, consider this: You have a country who is gouged for every phisichal game, and pretty much all around ripped on anything gaming. Now you add a free to play game to that. "oh thats nice, saves me some money for something else" Then stack up that they do get charged fairly, which would totally demolish the competition right of the bat. "Wanna pay 20 dollars for a merc pack or almost 80 for the new CoD?" Dust can dominate the AU/NZ game market just by pricing alone, CCP could make Dust huge there, how much? well it could easly scale to what Starcraft is to south korea, well if the game gets bugs and all that other **** ironed out. But yeah, markerting-wise giving AU/NZ palyers a bang for their buck could fish out a big playerbase.

On it's own I doubt it'll make any difference, but eventually the weight of complaints will tell. I bought the Merc pack with PS+ discount and it came out even with the American price.
