I played Eve for 5 years and i know the weapons of eve, but in Eve its easy, in eve you buy ammo for your weapons,
and the ammo tels you what it is for, what kind of damage it does and so forth.
I do have an idea about the weapons in dust but to be honest even i dont know for sure.
In Eve its like this:
Armar prefer energi weapons = laser turrets, beam lasers and pulse lasers. They also prefer armor.
Gallante prefer hybrid weapons = hybrid turrets, blasters and railgugs. They also prefer armor.
Minmatar prefer protectile weapons = artillry cannons and auto cannons.They also prefer shields.
Caldari prefer hybrid weapons = hybrid turrets, blasters and railguns. they also prefer shields.
All races have ships that have bonuses to missiles,drones, bombs, speed, electronic warfare, etc.
There are 4 damage tybes. Em, Heat, Kinetic, explosive.
In Eve its WHAT kind of AMMO you use that deside what kind of damage you do to your aponant.
A lot of the ammo have mixed dammage types, and there are also diferent range bonuses, and you can se it on the item info of the ammo what that is.
Example. hybrid weapon charge for a hybrid turret.
Antimatter charge small:
50% reduced optimal range
capacitor need bonus 0%
Em damage 0 HP
Explosive damage 0 HP
Kinetic damage 7 HP
Thermal damage 5 HP
Range bonus - 50 %
In Eve the bonus in the ships tels you what kind of weapon to fit.
Example: Amar frigate. Use laser turrets, Ammo name-Friquency crystals.
Executioner.
Amar frigate bonus skill bonus per level:
10% bonus to small energy turret capacitor use.
5% bonus to small energy turret damage
Role bonus: 80% reduction in propulton jamming systems
activation cost....
In Eve if you only train to use energy weapons, you can only use energy weapons. EASY.
In Dust its not like that, in Dust we do NOTtrain in hybrid weapons we train lets say assault rifle, and we are able to use ALL assault rifles, no matter what race its for.
There is no way to se what kind of damage it does or what race it was made for, or if its a hybrid weapon or not.
We need to have more info on the weapons to be able to make the right choises in siuts and weapons.
