if people would spend a bit of money on things and try all basic peices first before the insta-leap into proto you might be able to find a set up to work on. so you would then know what it would take to slowly work up to Adv then full Proto in a piecemeal manner.
yeah, i know we got a respec, and a whole pile of money, but still gotta think these things through a bit.... maybe it's not all about the gun when setting up a tank now, maybe it is the modules |

Actually, I can't do that; it's impossible. I have to put on PG modules to do it. PG skill needs reverting back to it's old bonus.
sigh.... maybe put on the 120 instead, since they are a bit less intensive, even though you lose some armor.
or, maybe use a higher grade tank? that's about my only suggestion, because fitting all the best on a Standard tank doesnt work, and is only marginal on ADV |

Plus, half is a lot. We tankers need that HP, since we accelerate like a snail.
uhm.... those plates are what make your speed drop i hate to say, maybe a turbo module for the RLH moments? i'm trying to help come up with a decent idea or two with you, because tanks are sometimes too easy to kill, i'll give you that |

then you're gonna need to figure something out, because stacking on piles of extra plating is what kills your speed, even though most of the time they are necessary, i do about t he same with my suit, but i go light on the plates for the sake of keeping a bit of mobility.
i get the gist about you liking being the heaviesst thing on the ground, but i dont think you should be invincible either. maybe try a low grade Hardener module to supplement your defence? either passive or active, but something to just plain reduce the damage you take, it might help with some of the issues |

Everyone uses hardners. That is not even opinion, it's law. Every pilot knows to use hardners. You would understand better if you were one.
used to fly around Dropships, i rather kept it light, mobile, and hard to take down due to that, i only used one sheild hardener, could take 4 FG shots before i dropped.
i kept a mobile CRU, and i'm about to start working modestly on DS again.
and i have seen a few decent tankers in my Corp that dont bother with the active hardeners, and rip other tanks that are using those active ones to shreds.
please dont assume i havent tried a few things. didn't like tanks, LAVs are too common, and i dont see enough Dropships most of the time.
honestly if i had a say about it tanks and dropships would get 5% more armor/sheilds, and maybe give tanks a new small turret configuration to try out.
but if your survivability is an issue, then throw on more defensive things, and leave your turrets as the last focus |

Amazing... Anyways, the days of DS's tanking more than 2 FG shots is long gone. I can 1-shot any DS. Like I said, PG skill needs to revert, New skills to decrease ammount of CPU/PG ( which ever's more intensive. That should be the case with everything that requires it. Even dropsuits need this. Helps people specialize better, they'll want to stay on one type of fit for awhile to make it the best possible fit.
definately agreed on that bit... hell, on the new PG/CPU fits, a max engineering set up with 5% per rank would be a huge boon to any vehicle user, and give something close, or maybe more than the old Chromosome base lines. because its ridiculous how much the suits can jump in PG/cpu, but tanks and DS cant boost theirs now.
honestly, i would like to see the boosts implemented some time, and the removal of Hacked AV grenades will eventually help with the tank situation, because those things are stupid powerful...
if you get a chance, send a mail to Concept Proof, he's a tanker in my Corp, you and him might be able to come up with something better some time, just....dont get all angry about it, cause getting angry really doesnt help with the flow of ideas
