There is a lot of false info floating around IG about the optional respect. I heard from several people that you had to subscribe for the respect BEFORE the 14th which, after reading the DEV post carefully, is totally false. Is there any other way to get the correct info out there than by these forums? I don't think so. And if this is the case then isn't it incumbent on those of us who do take the time to read the information provided carefully to relay it IG correctly? |

Optional respect? Sounds like many will not respect others, it is optional after all...
optional respec perhaps?
IG = in-game I would guess.

I tried and it pointed me to a post on the forums. Saying you can petition a respec after they do whatever it is they are doing for the skill reset. Hope that helps |

They should just re-spec everybody to save themselves the hassle.
This close to launch, I think the last thing CCP would want to be doing is individually re-speccing players, maybe even alts too!
And really is it that much hassle to get everything back to where you were before the re-spec?
Also, there might be a skill you notice this time when putting your skills back that you never noticed before. |

Not everyone screwed up their respec when Uprising came out. The smart players had their spreadsheets well planned out and even made sure to try everything before speccing. It would be a huge inconvenience if I have to spec into everything and possibly make a mistake with a bad button press. |

Why would I want to go through the hassel again of checking every skill BEFORE I train it.
I didn't need a spreadsheet either I just trained what I could. now I am working towards the rest. |

Most players didn't screw up though, CCP did.
One of the descriptions of the Vehicle skills was completely wrong, it said "+5% to vehicle max PG per level" but in reality it was supposed to be "-5% to CPU usage of PG Extenders per level", and before you ask, this is definately enough to warrant a re-spec. Considering the skill is completely useless, because we have a load of CPU but not enough PG.
Although, in saying that, I do see where you're coming from, I haven't read a lot of the arguements against the idea of a full re-spec, most of them I read were usually "I have to spend my time respeccing again!", but your point is more reasonable than that. |

Who would have thought that CCP would allow individual players to request an optional reset, when the last update was only a little while ago. It's like one last chance to spec up a different way to how you have currently and previously . Not sure it will work out of the box though. You could be left waiting for quite awhile. |

Quote:Skill point progression: Based on your feedback we will be doing further adjustments to skill point requirements for specializations, which received a massive rework in Uprising along with the new node based visualization of the tech tree. Our plan is to address this by tweaking skill point requirements GÇô and in that process reimburse you with the skill points that youGÇÖve spent back to your unused skill pool. Additionally, we are planning an optional skill point respec of skill points to players via petitioning our game masters after this change occurs, in case some of you may not be completely satisfied with your original choices. We also believe that this will solve some dropsuit requirements that were changed in Uprising, giving you easier access to those items again. Details about changes to the skill point progress will be forthcoming when available, and weGÇÖll provide an updated spreadsheet in advance of that (the previous one provided) here. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=75833&find=unread
So after they tweak skill point requirements and reset all of our skills again they're going to put in place some sort of optional respec system...
Yes, I agree they need to give us all the ability to unlearn abilities, but at a significant cost depending on how many skill points you have. Perhaps there is also a margin of error and you could lose an ability each time you revert changes. The new clone image (copy of your brain) can have errors.
At the very least we need to be able to revert skill change decisions that we made even after leaving the menu. Until we join a battle, our clones won't update to the changes. Perhaps the process of learning the abilities is completed only when you've woken up in your new clone. |

I agree with the name of the Topic, the information around the whole thing is just shockingly bad. I hope they do it tommorow, half-way through the month would be a big mistake tbh. I know a few people who misspend skillpoints by accident or went tanking xD, and its really a gamebreaker if your points are just spend poorly. They are hardly ever online now, and they used to be really active. I dont think Dust can afford to be picky and should make it a priority if they want to keep the people playing who misspend points or are just plain unhappy with what they have. Which seems to be quite allot looking at the forum and ingame chat.

HELL YES TO A NEW FULL RESPEC FOR ALL.
First of all i want to say i did not make any mistakes, i trained what i could and im working towards the rest to. I was suprised to se the SP cost got so expensive but that had to at some point.
The reasons i say yes:
CCP. made a lot of mistakes. A lot of players made mistakes. Some players simply went after the same as they had before and ran out of SP. Players are not happy whit what they trained, and simply want to try something else. Some players pushed the butten at the wrong time and got something they where not supose to, when trying to get a look at the skill tree, and some trained skills in the marked and got the wrong things, who to blame i dont know and i dont care. A lot of players miss read the bonuses in the skill tree, and trained skliis that are useless to them. Some skills have been changed after last respec, and some players now have the wrong skills. Players already started to leave and wont come back unless they can get one.
There are many more sad stories to this, i even read about a dude who whent to bathroom for 5 mins or something like that, and when he came back his 5 year old kid was playing whit the skill tree. LOL and ROFL. I know, but its still sad that his game is ruined and he cant fix it.
Personally i want ALL players to be the best they can be, i want my corp/team to be the best they can be, and i want my enemys to be the best they can be aswell, i dont want players to struggle and die all the time for the simple reason that they trained the wrong skills or made a few mistakes, it takes the FUN away and makes players quit.
