I die in 1-2 secs from them its really fin hard to stay alive vs them at this point in game dont have enough sp to get better stuff just started this game. and theres no rookie matchs wth ? its like a lv 1 player vs a lv 100 player who the hell would fight a lv 100 in a duel if u just started the game |

The short answer is that you're ******.
The longer answer is that CCP said they'd do matchmaking, but they say lots of things and we are still waiting =P
The guys in proto last build got many items refunded, so they started this build with hundreds of millions of isk, and a few had over a billion ISK refunded. These players can afford to lose multiple full proto fits and still have enough ISK to buy more. Most were unable to do this last build. You'd see a lot of n00bs in AUR proto because they did not have the ISK to buy the normal version.
If you see "PRO", run the **** away. Best thing to do is watch the killfeed, and remember what players are in proto. You can usually see an enemy's name long before you can figure out what kind of suit he's wearing. Sometimes colors can help tell the difference too. |

Grenades deal a good amount of damage, even militia ones. If you don't want to run you could throw ones of these at their feet and maybe take away half their health. If it's a Almighty Caldari Prototype Logistics suit just throw a flux grenade and watch them run. |

short answer is do NOT 1v1 people
long answer is play as a squad and practice focus fire
if you do that your squad can run militia and eat protos for breakfast.
stop being a rambo and start being a team player, if you dont have a squad, find the nearest blue and shoot at whatever target they are shooting at.

Going head to head with a Proto Fit is suicide under most circumstances. Although 2 or 3 to 1 can knock them down pretty quick. Same with Heavies.
Tell us what you are doing. Are you playing Ambush, Skirmish or Ambush OMS?
What gear are you using?
Are you in a squad with mics?
Do you listen to Team Speak? Except for the ranting fools. Those you can mute.
These questions might lead you to believe that playing Skirmish could be better for progressing in DUST. If you like Ambush that is fine but many Mercs have a lot of ISK to burn right now so they don't always mind throwing Proto Gear in a Pub Match. Spawning in Ambush is better than it was but it will still let you get spawn killed quickly from time to time.
So, squad up. Figure out how to listen in Team and Squad Speak. Get a mic. Practice. |

If I'm running solo infantry and run into a proto I do one of 3 things 1) run away and let someone else deal with him 2)run away and shoot him in the back later on 3) let someone else shoot him so he targets them, then join in.

nanohives + grenade spamming.
even if I have 4 complex shield extenders in my proto. full shields + full armor. I have been known to die by a single militia locust grenade. |

Cook the grenade then step out and throw. The mechanic to launch a grenade seems to take forever but cooking behind cover and releasing outside works wonders in terms of shortening it. |

Shotguns.
By myself I have been able to take out individual prototypes easily using basic lvl 1 skill access shotguns, just get close and fire away!
Admittedly it does take a bit of getting used to, you have to get in at a relatively close range (approximately 5 metres) to do decent damage and even then your target may decide to "dance" with you (they'll move around erratically) so they'll be harder to hit.
Even though there are situations where it's not the best weapon to have e.g. out in the open, I've found it to be ultimately successful, you can even take out squads from behind with a lvl 1 fitting
[As a final note I suggest that you try to fill your slots up with armor/shields, and get the respective skills for boosting both up as well] |

1 - Teamwork - Join squads, corps and groups of players. More guns = better chances 2 - If you aren't running ADV/PRO gear then going 1v1 should be avoided at all costs. 3 - Hide behind a heavy (if you can find one) 4 - Tactical advantages/Strategic maneuvers (like flanking, using high ground, following a friendly tank, etc...)
1 thing I always tell people I'm helping is to not be the first guy into the battle. It doesn't matter how good you are/what gear you have if you turn a corner by yourself and there is a full squad shooting at you. If you wanna go out first at least make sure that you have a few mercs by your side. |

Aim for the head also(also applies for most everything else)
The sad fact is, you run into a proto in a 1v1 fight, 9/10 times your gonna lose.
Its just numbers, and a simple fact is, proto suits can fit better weapons and more mods. Try strafing and aim for the head and pretty much my only advice. |
