What all has everyone seen in terms of the new landscapes and "moods"? Personally, almost all I've been coming across are bright sunny maps, mainly the temperate and desert themes. I definitely feel that the new landscapes add more; plenty of times I just look around to see what all effects are in place. Overall, I believe that this update has done a lot in terms of improving and adding the looks of New Eden to Dust.
So what have you all seen and liked? Do you think Uprising was a good step towards better atmosphere in Dust 514?
Side Note: Does anyone know of any place where CCP has released info regarding all the different map types and plans for 5/14 and furthur? |

I, personally, love the new detailed look, colors, moods, graphx, etc..
Uprising is a huge step forward in terms of DUST 514's ingame graphics and CCP should feel proud of how good it looks now.
And I know there will be some who disagree, but I don't care...it looks damned good. |

Need more Surface Infrastructure variation. One time I played a match on Manus Peak that swapped the surface infrastructure on B out for a new one that wasn't in past builds. It was a large warehouse type building with a bunch of catwalks and stuff. It was actually quite funny because it took a long time for either side to capture B simply because it was new to us and we didn't know how to get to the terminal!
But yeah, speaking on more variation of Surface Infrastructure instead of a certain set being far more common than another, I'd also like to through in a pitch for more of these indoor surface infrastructures. They are a ton of fun! I really enjoyed this one I just descriped plus the "carbon freezing chamber" as I like to call it (the variation on Skim Junction with the biomass place). |

I love the sunset desert ones, looks fantastic from the air, and a dogfight I had on one is the image I get whenever I think of dust. |

I'd like to see a bigger variation in architecture too. I remember in the old build when you downloaded patches or synced, there were 4 concept images that kept repeating, and one was of a white tower on a cliff edge. I'd like to eventually see maps have unique locations like that. |

Yes, more weather effects and architectural variations would be great.
To be on topic, yeah, the new moods and effects have really given the atmosphere a great feeling. |

I saw some catwalks near the ceiling that I have no clue how you got to, looks like you'd have to get a dropship and land on top then fall through the roof. Could probably use a bit more ladders, but still.

@Delerium... you can run up one of the NE corner of the building to get onto the roof. There's even a murder hole up there, for shooting the console's defenders to death. = )

Oh man, the first time i tried to get to B i spent a lot of time running around the catwalks but when you actually know where it is, it doesn't take up all that much time to get there.

So many times I heard developers for various games claim there is going to be a night setting on some maps (or tracks for racing games), yet when I get the games in my hands it turns out to be nothing more than an evening environment. Actually, wouldn't it be cool if all the planets in Planetary Conquest had regular day/night cycles and you set your reinforcement timer to middle of the night on your planet because you fight better at in the dark? But then I suppose you'd have to explain why all the planets in New Eden have a uniform 1 revolution per 24 hours.

Have all these vehicles and maybe infantry gear that you could spec into but are only really go in certain environments.
Oh and anyone have a picture of that alien tree they showed? I honestly hope we get some jungle maps, that would be really fun. |
