The kit costs $12-$30 and is guaranteed to work on ALL games. This is considered an exploit and CCP needs to start banning. My logi has 1100 HP total. Died in 3 seconds flat. Bunch of little girls that can't win without cheating. |

Exile assault rifle = 425 DPS, without any skills or mods. 425 * 3 = 1275. /thread
edit: Its 100% logical that someone would drop you at this speed. However, the TAC AR at max firing speed does 1000 DPS. That means if someone does have a rapid fire controller, you're boned. |

Proving without a shred of doubt someone is using a modded controller is virtually impossible. ESPECIALLY when you can shoot the TAR as fast as you can hit R1. Who is to say there is a limit to the speed one could smash R1?

I cap the 635RoF on the FAL on lolCoD, TAC AR is about 160 faster so you can certainly get close. |

Actually it's somewhat easy to find a modded controller. You don't look at speed, you look at intervals. If the time between 'button pushes' is a consistent number, it's a machine doing it. The controllers aren't expensive enough for someone to have a variable timing setup |

Is a radio noise based RNG that costly?

I dunno about you guys but I can hit the R1 button 8 times in a second with my trigger finger that I have. However with that capability, I am unable to aim correctly because of the massive amounts of shaking from my hand moving.
But I dont use easy mode assault rifles anyways so what do I care. Lel

Without a modded input device and using a Tac, i can drop you faster then 3 seconds....this includes borked aim atm....and no damage mods, its called 3 headshots in one second, i average around 5-8 headshots kills each game. |

These guys use very basic stuff because they sell high margin in place of volume. That isn't to say the tech isn't of there, just that most modded controllers prob don't use it. There will always be cheats and exploits but its about limiting it to as small of a percentile as possible. |

The only way you can tell for certain someone is using it is by the sound.
Plus you have to be up close and personal.
It sounds more like a tank shooting at you.
You'll know when you see it being used, trust me!
The only person I know for certain using one is a guy named "Akcinzol".
I kept going back to objective E (where he was) to make certain. From far away I couldn't truly tell, it just sounded "off" to me and I didnt know for certain it was his gun I was hearing.
Upon closer inspection it was obvious. LOL |

So... I hear people mention "modded" from time to time. Like, as if people are cracking their dualshock 3s and adding circuits.
To be clear.... you're talking about people using a "turbo" controller? Because you seem to be referring to these things like you'd find them in a crate alongside an illegal ******* shipment or off some unlisted Hong Kong website. Am I missing something? |

Cheap modded controllers use 900 shots per minute. This is higher then top rate of fire, so game ignores 1/2 the presses, resulting in 450 rounds per minute.
I can fire a little over 400 with my finger, for short time. Makes finger sore and is inaccurate from controller shake.
I can in game fire about 300 rounds per minute accurately, I did in codex build, I didn't spec ar this build as I'm going scrambler rifle.
Programmable controller (several times price of cheap one, well over $100), and very fast players(years of practice with semi-auto guns) can do much higher damage then me or cheap modded controller. I would be able to kill in much less then 3 seconds.
If it is very fast trigger or mod, the damage at that rate of fire is to high.
Best way to catch modded controller is to check the time button is held and space between button presses. A human will vary in both slightly, a chip will be a series of perfect matches. If 3rd and after identical press was ignored, modded full-auto would become 2 round burst at best, 900 press per second would still fire once per press.
Fast trigger finger could best be balanced by a heat build up. Set heat so 150-200 rounds per minute will never overheat, dropped presses still count for over heat.
-This would let fast fingered player put a burst of fast shots into target, take cover and repeat after cool down. -slow finger people would never have to worry about overheat. -mod user would have little to no advantage and be very likely to have gun kill them from overheat after shooting one shot and holding button down.
The coming scrambler rifle looks like it is balanced this way, and ar has heat build up animation. Easily explained as full auto has fire rate set to prevent overheat, semi-auto has this safety removed. |

Okay.
People seems to think that people having autofire have gone thru extraordinary cheating and haxing means.
Fact is that nowadays manufacturers sell controllers with adjustable autofire options. Actually, joysticks with that option have been on market as early as 1980's.
PS3 is usb combatible device, accepting USB HIDs (Human Interface Devices). Programmable mice work, and with those you can set keypresses on repeat and even define the repeat rate by millisecond(!).
On either of those cases there has been no modding or hacking involved.
Now that means that in modern world there devices widely available which enable autofire. That is a fact we have to accept.
In fps games, it's interesting to have different weapons, including single shot rifles with no charge-up. It is also nice to make it possible to tap real fast and have the weapon fire fast as usually one's physical aim suffers from extreme tapping. At best, that single shot guns are truly skill rewarding guns and intersting to use and be used upon.
But what happens when these two meet?
In a (competitive) game, if there is a weapon balanced solely being single shot and it is still being fired auto, chances are there's a problem. Where's the fault? Manufacturers selling generally adjustable multifunction controllers or game designers not taking them into account?
Answer is clear. As we can't expect all manufacturers to quit their products nor players not to use commercially available controllers, it is the game designers job to design the game so that autofiring won't give noticable advantage beyond comfort.
Not going into details how to fix OP guns (see my suggestions on some TAC AR threads) there are many ways to break the full autofire's usability. But fix to the problem |
