I'm an assault and I run the tactical AR. I hated the fact that the tac was useless in the last build, however there is no way that even the proto tac should be above 70 damage per bullet like it is now. Having a gun like that just makes everyone in the game go O_O
As a TAR user I would greatly appreciate you tone down the damage, it's seriously not fair to even other specced out proto suits I run into. The only thing that can compete with my tac is another tac user seeing me before I see them (grenades and all tactical gameplay aside). When you make one weapon able to dish out this much damage with virtually no drawbacks whatsoever (and no, having a smaller clip and semi-auto fire it is NOT a hefty drawback for most of us Tac users when they can dish out damage like this), you are basically funneling the rest of the game into herding around that one weapon that kills other people way faster.
That means more people moving in on my type of gameplay, and there's just no fun in playing if we're all playing the exact same way with similar tactics.
As far as a suggested damage range, I would recommend you drop the GLU to about a 64-66 and the proto to about 70-72 |

I say we just nuke it from the AR tree, adjust the damage variables to 100/100% to shields/armor, make it less effective when hip firing or in CQC, give it 2 more variants with different variables to damage, range, or ROF and rename it the Caldari Gauss Rifle. There, I made a new weapon for you CCP. Give me moniez. |

Damage potential compared to shotgun is similar, but requires more precision aiming at close range in exchange for having a greater range than the shotty. Nerf the shotgun.

I've been using the proto tac rifle since the start of this build and I found it fun at first, but once people understood how powerful it was everyone started using them, now the only things I have over them is skill and damage mods. The idea behind them is to kill the enemy from somewhere you can't be seen, i've done this loads and I rarely get touched because of it. |

I would suggest we hold off on calling the TACT OP until after the scramblers come out as right now the scrambler does more base damage and it offers the charged shot which does an unknown multiplier for damage. |

But when you think about it, the AR class is the only one that I know of off the top of my head that has four different variants and the TAR doesn't exactly fit into the mid range, high damage Gallente combat philosophy. It's basically a tech demo for the gauss rifle, which will operate almost exactly the same. Since there's going to be an ongoing optional respec for changes to the skill tree from the 14th and onward, this would be prime time to introduce the gauss rifle into the game during that time frame. This will balance out the AR class, add more incentive to use the burst rifle, and people who love the TAR will have their own weapon tree with 2 different variants added to fit the longer range combat philosophy of the Caldari. Win, win. |

Adding to that, the TAR in general should get a significant damage penalty for anything inside its optimal range, similar to the laser. So in CQC, the user would have to resort to a sidearm. Would probably stop all the Logibees from using the TAR too. |

I think the tac Ar should lose some or all of its dmg bonus for more range. Possibly the same or a bit more range than chromosome's regular AR that's enough advantage to go tac over regular Ar or even sniper that isn't game breaking |

Tac ar is op but not super op like it used to be. Reduce dmg on glu to 52-56 duvolle 62-66 keep range reduce fire rate to 678 problem solved. |

Also another simple fix make the zoom on the scope much higher and add more spread when hip firing..... problem solved again. |

I like your ideas, but hip fire with every AR is already terrible, so adding more spread might just make people EASIER to hit lol. The increase to zoom would be an excellent deterrent if coupled with say a ROF drop while hip firing (doesn't make sense logically from a New Eden standpoint really, but if you were hipfiring a high-powered semi-auto rifle in real life you would unintentionally be firing it slower so the recoil didn't toss it from your hands). However, if you increase the zoom you would also have to increase the range, because no gun maker (even in New Eden) would in there right mind would put a sniper scope on a weapon that they knew would only be effective up to ~80m. |

Amen, it's SUPPOSED to be for CQC and it's awful at hipfiring even when I'm close enough to tell what the other guy had for lunch. |
