To get to a logistics suit, you have to skill up to proto in the 'basic' tier. In EVE Online, there are plenty of ships that are logistically-orientated, but aren't tech 2. So why is this different in DUST? Is CCP planning to make changes to this?
Suddenly a logistics user must be a hundred times more dedicated to their role than before because of all the skill points. Heck, make a 'basic' variant of logistics that retains its numerous equipment slots, but has no skill bonuses. |

The (actually useful) Tech 1 logistics ships are a new thing, and even then they're not useful solo.
Drawing the parallel: there's nothing stopping you from running logistics equipment on your standard basic suit; you're just going to need a couple of them and some coordination to be as useful as a dedicated logibro.
I've had good success creating 3 or 4 copies of the same suit, just with a different piece of equipment, and swapping when needed. |

A good point, but the Devs had said they wanted DUST to appeal to the casual gamer. If the casual gamer wanted to try logistics, they couldn't due to it being a specialization, or 'Tech 2' role. |

Actually, they can. The 'Neo' Minmatar Logistics M-I is available without any skill training for 60 AUR. The whole point of AUR items was to let you try the specialized items before you invest. |

You don't have to skill to proto in the basic tier anymore. Since 1.1, you skill to 3 (ADV) in basic frame to unlock roles (logistics, assault). |

And I have to admit, it's working great so far. Hopefully it's okay for new players too.
Sorry for bringing the thread back :p |
