I've found that they've really made our dropships more durable. Properly fitted, you can survive militia forge guns like a boss. You may be mistaking Ishikone Assault Forge guns for the Militia variety. Those things hurt lol, but others are no probs. |

they r still flying coffins as far as im concerned...
maybe the abillity to mow down tanks....from above...
Dude, I mow down tanks like a boss with my Gallente dropship. Triple rocket damage mod with a turret gunner with maxed missile turret ability can mow down a tank like NOTHING. |

Communication and great flight ability = one dead tank. Shield tanks take some time but die FAST when shield goes down. Armor tankers die even faster. The key is missile turrets. Blasters and rails are not very good on a drop ship. Blasters are ok vs infantry but must be very close and rail guns are VERY iffy with even the slightest jerk of the control stick.

Swarm Launchers are fine just as they are. They do moderate damage to a dropship, and force us to move after a few volleys. Multiple characters launching swarms at me will force me to react or die. They don't need a buff. |

If you're going to increase the HP of a free vehicle because of changes made to damage output, why skip over dropships?
We already get hosed in every other department lol, even WP.
I can call in the free LAV and run over 10+ people a map now with 0 "risk" at all. The basic LAV's are beefy enough now take to alot of punishment and drive away to rep up.
My derpship is exspensive I tell you! :)
Or I can call in my assault dropship and maybe scoop 10 kills if I am lucky and get good gunners.
If you are looking for a group of experienced pilots, check out XERCORE. We have several dedicated pilots and turret specialists. We can help you turn that derpship to a pwnship.
I do agree with you on the WP thing. I still don't get why I don't get WP for spawn in on the CRU and oh how I wish I had an eject passenger button... lol

My ALT is a Logi and if I chose I could throw 2 spawns out in the middle of the woods and then walk away and let them build up the WP. BUT If I hover over an actual objective with a 2 miilion Dropship I get nothing. Actually I do get -75 WP when someone takes me down LOL The first time I saw that it was confusing.. Do tanks lose WP too after they pop?
That negative could have been when/if your ship, after crashing, crashed on top of a friendly blueberry. I have not noticed a WP decrease from DS destruction. Usually happens if it dies from you crashing with blueberries in your hold or under you.

The fact that you can avoid missiles simply by moving a short distance away from the source is proof positive that swarm launchers are awful against their intended target.
Standard launchers and higher can hit me at a FAR distance. If I am moving around, I am spending less time providing ground fire or accurate drops. Standard and above rockets will hit me and force me to move. If I am lucky, I get out of the range. In Logistics, Standard, and Militia, one cannot easily outrun rockets without speed boosters. An assault dropship can avoid rockets when moving at speed. They are nimble craft.
One guy with a rocket should not be able to one hit kill a dropship. I am okay with them being able to hit me and doing moderate damage that cannot be ignored, which is how they are at the moment.
Militia Rockets are a joke by the way. Don't grade all rockets by their performance. |

Have you flown a dropship at all? There is a plethora of ways we can be shot down. Should all AV woop our ass every time? By your logic, we should make it where we can't dodge forge guns and tanks rail shots? Rockets will hit when in range and being able to skirt their range is NOT something that is bad. With the costs of the Dropships being so high, it should take teamwork to take one down. One person shouldn't have an easy time taking a drop ship down, except for Forge Guns properly fitted. Lol, those guys and their Ishikone AF lol.

That was solo with the starter AV fit CCP gives everyone (with stacked damage mods). I had the second flight of missiles on the way by the time the first wave hit because of the short 1.2 second lock-on time. I think the first one went down in four volleys while the second used structures and low flight to block my shots, but the starter fit proved to be too strong so he landed halfway into armor and was gone before I could hoof it over to finish him off.
I really should not have been able to do that.
The person you were shooting probably pushed hard to get to the Assault without having the requisite abilities to properly tank his craft. Good job on the Dropship kill, but that is definitely not the norm when it comes to durability of our craft. |

Hell no. The increase in flight ceiling definitely helps us survive more encounters. |
