Okay, I've tried everything and I still can't get my headset to work. I've made sure everything is set up properly. I have my headset selected in the accessories tab on the PS3 (it's a Turtle Bay PLa. It's USB connected). I have voice chat enabled and push to talk off. I can activate voice in different rooms and/or squads. I have the blue mic symbol and I can hear myself in my headset, but no one else. I've even checked my router and opened the ports and nothing has worked. I can't think of anything else to try. Did I skip any steps? What else can I do? |

No, checking on the simple stuff should always be the first step IMO, so no worries there. It does have a chat volume on the headset and it is turned all the way up (ditto with mic on/off switch on it). I can hear myself in my headset and I've checked the volume of it on the PS3 as well. Seems fine. Both input and output are set to the headset within the accessories setting. I've re-downloaded the client 3 different times since I started fighting with the thing too.

Well, Dosh's idea failed.... Zaria: I hear myself all the time. It's the only voice I DO hear! If I'm not supposed to, then that is a problem. One that I don't know the answer to, but a problem all the same. Anybody know if that would be headset related and if so, what to do about it?

I've put in a report (twice now) as was recommended via the technical petition thread and I'm waiting for a reply. As far as I've been able to tell, I've followed every protocol and made every attempt on my end that I can think of. It's the last thing I can do, considering I think I've tried everything else. If they don't respond, then I'm out. I know this is beta, but it shouldn't be this difficult to get the voice chat right. MAYBE when it's out of beta, I'll come back, but this has put such a fowl taste in my mouth that I doubt it. Thank you everyone that have attempted to help me with this problem. If they don't get back to me and the worst happens, the only reason I'd want to come back is because of the people that play it. You've all been awesome and I thank you for your time. I hope to see you all in game, but we'll see from here. |

I needed to sleep anyways. I hear the game audio just fine and I checked the headset with other games and it works. The only one where it doesn't is Dust. If it works with other games, I'm fairly certain my settings are correct. |

Unfortunately, I've tried all of these options so far. I'm in school for computer programming, so I've tried to be as systematic with this as I would be when writing code. I've been in contact with CCP and so far, they've only given me options that I've already tried (uninstalling and removing the cache and all that). I plan to go through them step by step again, just in case, but I'm not holding my breath. On the bright side, if I ever get this to work, I'll know exactly how to fix it if someone else ever has this problem, but damn is it annoying! |

50000 wasn't mentioned in the port forwarding thread here, so I haven't tried that yet. If it doesn't work and I get a virus from it, I'm going to assume you're trying to eliminate all other Shades from Dust, Emry3. :) Thanks for the suggestion! |
